Job Description:

The Asset Liquidity and Funding Analytics (ALFA) team is seeking an experienced Software / Data Engineer to extend the strategic Liquidity and Funding platform at TD Securities. This Dublin-based permanent role will join a high-performing global engineering team, contributing to one of TDS’s top-priority initiatives.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the technical direction and future evolution of the Liquidity Platform, developing a deep understanding of securities, liquidity, and funding functions across multiple asset classes. The position provides exposure to complex, large-scale data engineering challenges within a dynamic environment and involves direct engagement with global stakeholders across business and technology teams.

Position Overview

We're looking for an ambitious and motivated team player with a strong technical background and a focus on scaling great ideas, collaborating effectively in the team and beyond to deliver high quality solutions for our end users.

This complex role is on a team of highly talented technologists delivering solutions to the global markets business, providing front-to-back funding and liquidity metrics across a spectrum of capital market products.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
• Strong background in Computer Science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, computational complexity.

Non-Technical Skills

• Excellent communication skills and teamwork is a must
• Experience collaborating efficiently within a global team.
• Demonstrable experience in fast-paced environments, supporting flexible goals aligned with business priorities.
• Knowledge of capital markets products is a plus.
• Experience working in the financial industries is a plus.

Technical skills

• Core Software Engineering
• 8-10 years of Java experience, strong understanding of JVM internals.
• Experience with Spring stack and microservice development using Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and integrating secure REST APIs.
• Experience with RDBMS, fluency in SQL.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, Agile environments.
• Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and clean coding practices.
• Familiarity with application monitoring solutions

Data Engineering

• 5+ years building scalable and reliable data pipelines using Databricks and Apache Spark. We need both.
• Experience with cloud data warehouse/data lake architectures and tooling.
• Experience building solutions using cloud providers, preferably Azure (AWS/GCP also valued).
• Experience with modern data lakehouse concepts and architectures.
• Experience ingesting and transforming data from sources such as Kafka, REST APIs, Hadoop, etc.
• Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools (Azure Data Factor or similar).
• Experience implementing ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data lakehouse solutions.
• Experience with data quality, observability/monitoring tools, and best practices.
• Experience ensuring compliance with data governance and security policies.
