Senior Software Engineer (Node.js / AWS)

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work on a project in the edtech industry.

You will be part of a distributed team developing new technologies to solve real business problems in the education sector, supporting global university programs, student services, exam preparation, and corporate training initiatives.

We are looking for someone with good communication skills, ideally with experience making decisions, being proactive, used to building software from scratch, and with good attention to detail.

 

What you will do:

  • Developing RESTful services in AWS with API Gateway and Lambda using Node.js and NestJS.
  • Designing and building scalable, event-driven microservice architectures with Amazon EventBridge, SNS, SQS, RabbitMQ, and AmazonMQ.
  • Leading engineering-wide initiatives and collaborating with multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Integrating with external APIs.
  • Working with GitHub Copilot as part of your daily workflow, including AI-assisted code review in our CI/CD pipelines.

 

What you will bring:

  • 6+ years of experience with Node.js and its frameworks (Express, NestJS, Koa, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, ideally including Lambda (serverless) and infrastructure-as-code with Terraform.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript.
  • Experience with message brokers and asynchronous communication in distributed systems.
  • Proficiency with Git and version control best practices.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a strong desire to learn and the resilience to tackle complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership skills — ability to mentor peers and contribute to technical direction across teams.

 

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of Rest with OpenAPI 3.0.
  • Experience with Angular (we currently use Angular 21 with signals).
  • Experience writing test suites with Jest.
