Do you have what it takes to boost our software engineering capabilities within NN Group? Then this is the role for you. You will combine strong development skills with a sharp ear for team needs, helping shape modern engineering practices and accelerating delivery with AI.
You bring 10+ years of development experience, a solid foundation in C#, object‑oriented principles, and system integration, as well as a track record of building high‑quality APIs in a modern Azure‑based environment. In this role, you will design and build robust, scalable APIs and help raise the engineering maturity of the team by introducing best practices, mentoring colleagues, and leveraging AI to improve speed, quality, and decision-making.
What you are going to do
Together with your colleagues, you will be building a flexible, secure, and highly automated API landscape on Azure. You will work on the in‑house development, modernization, and enhancement of API services, alongside the daily operations that keep them reliable and observable. You will build, test, deploy, and run APIs as part of user stories, in accordance with business requirements, considering security, performance, and architectural guidelines, supported by CI/CD and cloud automation.
As a senior software engineer you will help define the API engineering competence within the team: shaping ways of working, promoting effective patterns and practices, and coaching teammates. You will also apply AI in pragmatic ways to improve code quality, testing, documentation, and architectural decision making. The mantra of an NN engineer is: “you plan it, build it, test it, ship it, run it.”
Design and build robust, secure, and scalable .NET APIs on Azure App Services and Azure Functions, creating new services and modernising existing ones
Apply and champion strong API practices (REST best practices, idempotency, throttling, concurrency mitigation, performance, and complex filtering)
Use AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Azure OpenAI, internal NN tooling) to improve code quality, testing, documentation, and support architectural decisions
Integrate with platforms such as ServiceNow, IdentityNow, Entra, Active Directory
Collaborate closely with DevOps teammates, product owners, architects, and security experts
Raise engineering maturity through mentoring, CI/CD and observability improvements, and a “build–test–ship–run” DevOps mindset

Who you are
10+ years as an API/backend engineer with deep .NET expertise and hands‑on experience designing APIs from scratch
Expert level knowledge in C#, OO design principles, modern API development, REST standards, idempotency, throttling, concurrency, and performance optimization
Experienced with Azure App Services/Functions, cloud‑native architectures, and both SQL & NoSQL data stores; with a strong background in system integration
Empathic communicator and mentor who raises team engineering standards and leverages AI tools to improve speed and quality
Experience with Blazor (or similar component frameworks) and modern frontend/backend integration, along with hands‑on expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM) and DevOps CI/CD principles
Who you will work with
You will become a member of an IAM product team, collaborating closely with DevOps engineers, product owners, architects, and security experts. The team delivers API products and supports tooling that power business capabilities across NN. Together, you will ensure our services are secure, reliable, and scalable.
