At Westpac NZ, we are transforming how our customers experience banking through our mobile platforms. As a Senior Software Engineer in our iOS Product Engineering team, you will play a key role in delivering high quality mobile solutions used by thousands of New Zealanders every day. This is an end to end engineering role where you will shape technical approaches, build secure and scalable solutions, and support applications through to production and ongoing operation. You will also champion engineering excellence, code quality, security and the sustainable reduction of technical debt, while supporting and mentoring others in the team.

Ko tō mahi | What you’ll do
Design, develop, test and maintain iOS mobile applications and supporting integration solutions.
Own solutions from concept through to delivery, release and operational support.
Apply best practice across software design, coding standards, performance and security.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure platform stability and resilience.
Contribute to CI CD pipelines, automated testing and quality assurance practices.
Work closely with product, design and engineering colleagues to deliver customer focused outcomes.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers across the team.
Create and maintain clear technical documentation across the software development lifecycle.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve system performance, reliability and maintainability.
Support release and deployment activities in line with governance and risk standards.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
At least 5 years professional experience in iOS mobile application development.
Strong experience with Swift and modern iOS development practices.
Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns and engineering principles.
Experience working with CI CD pipelines, automated testing and DevOps practices.
Strong problem solving skills with the ability to break down complex challenges into practical solutions.
Experience working in Agile product teams delivering at pace.
A collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and communicate effectively with technical and non technical stakeholders.
A passion for quality, security and continuous improvement.
A thoughtful approach to using AI in engineering workflows to improve efficiency and quality.
