This role is offered as a hybrid in Brno, Czech Republic. We are only able to accept applications for those based in the Czech Republic or who have sponsorship to live and work in the Czech Republic. 

 

What you’ll do at Jamf: 

At Jamf, we empower people to be their best selves and do their best work. The Jade team is at the core of Jamf's vision that only enrolled, company-managed devices – used by authorized users and verified as safe and compliant – can access business-critical resources over the network. We own Jamf's DNS infrastructure: high-throughput DNS gateways that evaluate and enforce customer-defined security policies, content filtering, and threat blocking in real time, serving approximately 500 million DNS requests per day across roughly 500,000 active devices in our largest regions. We also own an in-house distributed key-value store built on Raft consensus (Dragonboat), delivering strong consistency and low-millisecond read latencies at edge locations. Our infrastructure runs in AWS with our services deployed in Kubernetes. 

 

What you can expect to do in this role: 

You'll spend most of your time writing Golang  our DNS gateways are built on CoreDNS and that's where the core of the work lives. You'll also get your hands into Java on supporting services. 

The big challenge right now is scale. We're preparing for significant traffic growth, and you'll be a key part of figuring out what needs to change and making it happen. Alongside that, a lot of your energy will go into making our systems easier to run and harder to break  think better Prometheus/Grafana dashboards, smarter alerting, solid runsheets, and synthetic monitoring of critical workflows.  

Once you're ramped up, you'll join our on-call rotation 

While most of your work will be within the Jade team's domain, we expect impact beyond the team too  contributing to broader engineering initiatives, sharing what you know, and being a voice in cross-team conversations.

What we are looking for: 

  • Strong hands-on experience with Golang and solid experience with Java. 
  • Experience building, scaling for HA, or operating distributed systems and/or high-throughput infrastructure. 
  • Familiarity with KubernetesAWS, and CI/CD practices. Prior experience with DNS, network protocols, or edge computing is a strong plus. 
  • Understanding of observability practices  metrics, alerting, dashboards, and SLOs. 
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot) and understanding of how to incorporate them into day-to-day workflows for real productivity gains. 
  • Strong ownership mentality  you see things through from design to production and you don't wait to be told something is broken. 
  • Not afraid to question the status quo and speak up when something is off. Willing to dig deep in investigations rather than settling for surface-level answers. 
  • Able to provide clear, evidence-based arguments for proposed improvements and accustomed to measuring the outcomes of your actions. 
  • A good communicator who works effectively across teams, shares knowledge, and contributes to wider engineering initiatives.
