Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Location: Bangalore-Manyata Tech Park (Hybrid)

Business & Team

This role is part of the International Regulatory Reporting Crew where we deliver cutting-edge technology solutions allowing the Bank to comply with regulatory reporting and disclosure obligations across the Banks international jurisdictions.

 As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll be an integral member of our Engineering practice. Your role will be to lead and guide a team of engineers collaborating across a wide range of business and technical stakeholders to deliver a transformative and strategic data engine initiative to meet current and future international regulatory reporting requirements

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to full development life cycle, including requirement analysis, functional design, technical design, programming, testing, documentation, implementation and ongoing technical support for agile projects.

  • Data Integration: Integrate data from various sources, ensuring data quality and consistency

  • Performance Tuning: Optimize ETL processes for performance and scalability

  • Code Review: Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards

  • Technical Leadership: provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers

  • Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, data architects, and other stakeholder to understand requirements and deliver solutions

  • Trouble shooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to ETL processes and data integration

  • Understand our customers' core business objectives and build end-to-end data centric solutions to address them.

  • · Develop complex data transformations, data cleansing and data aggregation logic using Ab-Initio tools.

  • Ensure high quality code by performing thorough testing, code reviews and debugging of Ab-Initio graphs and components.

 Essential Skills:

  • 7+ years of experience in ETL development, using Ab Initio Suite of products like GDE, Express IT, EME, Control Centre, Metadata Hub, Conduct IT etc.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Ab Initio, Unix/Linux, SQL and scripting languages such as shell or Perl

  • Experience and knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure (preferably AWS)

  • Infrastructure as code using AWS CDK/Terraform/CloudFormation/SST

  • CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, TeamCity or Octopus

  • Strong Analytical, Problem - Solving and communication skills

  • Proficient in SQL scripting, writing complex SQLs for building data pipelines.

  • Experience in leading and mentoring data engineers, including ownership of internal business stakeholder relationships and working with consultants.

  • Experience in working in Agile teams, including working closely with internal business stakeholders.

  • Experience in development, production support and troubleshooting issues.

  • Experience in process optimization - SQL, ETL etc

  • Good automation skills in areas such as data ingestion, APIs, file transfers.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree/master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
