As a Senior Backend Software Development Engineer, you will help lead the delivery of projects from design through ongoing support. You will build services and technical solutions that improve how customers experience buying, selling, and renting with Zillow, while influencing engineering quality, technical direction, and team growth across a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Design and develop backend features, APIs, and services using Java.
Build and support integrations between backend systems and Salesforce or similar enterprise platforms.
Lead the delivery and ongoing support of backend engineering projects from design through production.
Review code and help raise the bar for system design, testing, code quality, and maintainability.
Facilitate engineering discussions and help drive thoughtful technical decisions across the team.
Mentor junior engineers and support their technical growth through feedback and collaboration.
Partner with engineers and cross-functional teammates in Mexico and the U.S. to deliver solutions at scale.

5+ years of software development experience building backend applications, APIs, or services, with strong hands-on Java experience required.
Some experience supporting integrations with Salesforce or similar enterprise platforms.
Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases.
Experience designing, debugging, and maintaining modern backend or distributed software systems.
Able to influence engineering quality through code reviews, technical discussions, and strong software development practices.
Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
Must be authorized to work in Mexico.
