Senior Software Developer, CMS

POSITION SUMMARY

Zoetis is seeking to hire a skilled Sr. Software Developer - Content Management Systems (CMS) to help with the strategy, development and support of our CMS platforms. Sr. Software Developer will primarily focus on building CMS applications, overseeing multiple projects in a multi-vendor environment. Involved in implementation and support activities, which might include fixing errors, improve performance, or upgrade interfaces. Sr. Software Developer will also be involved in directing system testing and validation procedures and working with customers or departments on technical issues or pain points including software system design and maintenance. 

Sr. Software Developer, CMS is responsible for empowering the authors and marketing managers by providing tools to curate, manage and deliver content to various digital properties. In this role you will have the opportunity to develop the long-term strategic initiatives that up level the core aspects of the content management and product experience space at Zoetis and to expand our headless CMS functionality that extends the concept of content to an omni-channel strategy across our multiple web properties. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Percent of Time

Help define the product roadmap for the evolution of the CMS platform, with input from Zoetis Tech and Digital (ZTD) and business stakeholders. 10%

Help the architect to create buy-in for the product vision both internally withing ZTD and with key stake holders. 10%

Facilitate formal design sessions with the team and generate structured documentation that is clearly able to communicate the strategy, roadmap and design to engineers, architects, and stakeholders. 10%

Collaborate with CMS users and analyze usage patterns to discover user interaction pain points. Address the pain points in product roadmap.  10%

Lead and contribute projects that help us reach the vision of "Create Once, Publish Everywhere" 10%

Ensure the quality of project deliverables through code and test case reviews and oversee development activities related to projects and production support activities. 10%

Maintaining site compatibility, accessibility, and back-end performance and monitoring and adjusting standards periodically. 10%

Provide support in technical emergency events and help resolve issues no matter
when the failure occurs to minimize the business impact. 10%

Review, analyze, and solution change requests to determine complexity and provide resource/cost estimates. 10%

Mentor Junior developers of applications for the delivery and operational aspects of production and non-production systems. 5%

Engage with agency partners and vendor platforms to syndicate product content accurately and efficiently across retailer platforms, ensuring consistency and relevance. 5%

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or other related field or equivalent work experience in Content Management Systems (CMS) development related field. 
• 5+ years of experience having Conceptual Understanding and Strong Hands-on Experience on implementation of CMS based applications like Adobe, Crownpeak, Episerver (Optimizely), Contentful, Contentstack, Drupal. 
• Ability to work in a globally distributed environment. 
• Good track-record of executing in a dynamic, team-based environment. 
• Adept at understanding customer challenges, navigating from problem to resolution and communicating process and resolution effectively both verbally and in writing. 
• Demonstrated ability to interact comfortably with all levels of management and staff. 

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years hands on development experience with back-end technology stack like .Net (preferred), JAVA, NextJS, ExpressJS, NodeJS. 

• Minimum 2 yrs. of hands-on experience in modern JavaScript frameworks like ReactJS (preferred), AngularJS, VueJS 

• Familiar with REST / GraphQL  

• Strategy & development experience implementing Headless CMS Capabilities. 

• Experience managing multiple CMS platforms is preferred. 

• Knowledge of Agile methodology and experience working in a fast-paced Scrum environment.  

• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation skills. 

• Experience with work management tools like Jira, ServiceNow is a plus. 

• Experience working with a range of stakeholders on business, marketing, and editorial teams. 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Flexibility to work times with at least 4 hr. overlap with US EST Time zone.
