As a Senior Small Business Banking Relationship Manager, you’ll manage and grow a portfolio of business clients with revenues up to $5MM. You’ll build strong relationships, deliver meaningful financial solutions, and drive market growth while partnering closely with internal teams. This is a highly visible role with opportunities to make a direct impact on our clients and the communities we serve.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of small business clients while ensuring all relationships meet credit, risk, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Drive loan, deposit, and fee income growth through active outreach, COI development, and strategic prospecting.

  • Partner with internal teams to cross-sell a full suite of banking solutions, including CDTM, Capital Markets, Private Banking, and Wealth Management.

  • Profile clients and prospects, analyze financials with the Portfolio Manager, and recommend credit structures that meet client needs.

  • Deliver financial insights and guidance to help clients navigate business trends and banking opportunities.

  • Present and recommend loans through the bank’s approval process, ensuring strong credit quality and structure.

  • Identify client needs and proactively refer to cross-functional partners to expand wallet share.

  • Coach and mentor newer Relationship Managers to strengthen team performance and pipeline development.

  • Represent Associated Bank in the community through events, boards, and networking opportunities to enhance brand presence and build referral sources.

Education & Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 5+ years experience in banking or financial services.

  • 3+ years experience in business development, B2B sales, or relationship management.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with small business lending, credit structuring, and financial analysis.

  • Strong COI development and community engagement background.
