Job SummaryThe Senior Service Manufacturing Engineer leads engineering and operational excellence initiatives within ZOLL's medical device repair depot. The engineer is responsible for sustaining and improving throughput, yield, and cost, while driving continuous improvement initiatives and partnering cross-functionally to enhance product quality, serviceability, and repair operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of ZOLL's global service operations.
Essential Functions- Own performance and sustainment of repair production lines for a segment of ZOLL’s product portfolio
- Lead and execute process improvement initiatives including yield improvement, cycle time reduction, and cost optimization
- Drive data-driven decision making through analysis of repair, test, and quality data
- Partner with operations leadership to define and improve KPIs (throughput, turnaround time, cost per repair)
- Lead root cause investigations for field and depot failures and implement corrective/preventative actions
- Prepare and process Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Process Deviation Authorizations (PDA) relating to the continuous improvement of ZOLL Service processes.
- Partner with Test Development Engineering to define requirements, prioritize needs, and deploy test solutions that support repair line efficiency and product quality
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste and improve process performance
- Act as a primary interface between service operations and stakeholders across the company, ensuring service operations needs are clearly defined and met
- Assist in standardizing service processes across international sub-offices.
- Train repair depot team members on new processes and use feedback to improve current processes.
- Support automation engineers in finding areas of opportunity for automation.
- Provide mentoring and act as a resource for team members.
- Other duties as required.
Required/Preferred Education and Experience- Bachelor's Degree Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline required
- At least 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced electro-mechanical assembly and functional test environment as an engineer or equivalent experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Experience in a medical device or other highly regulated environment
- Experience leading or mentoring team members
- Experience in managing products within an Agile environment
- Experience with an MES such as Camstar a plus
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or another drafting software a plus
- Familiarity with test development principles a plus.
- Familiarity with LabVIEW programming a plus
- Familiarity with ISO 9000 a plus
- Familiarity with free market Large Language Models, such as OpenAI ChatGPT, Anthropic Claude, or Google Gemini, a plus.
- Proficient communicator who can relate to and lead others with a servant leadership mindset
- Previous experience leading complex, long-standing projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess problems related to complex medical equipment
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and responsibilities
- Background in product structure, BOMs, and MRP systems
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
- Experience working with production test systems in a manufacturing or service environment
- Ability to collaborate effectively with test and automation engineering teams
- Proficient in MS Office Suite

The annual salary for this position is:
$120,000.00 to $130,000.00
This position is eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the company's bonus plan. Factors which may affect starting salary include geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
