Role Overview:

As a Senior SDET, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust automation frameworks to ensure product quality. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps to integrate quality practices into every stage of development. Your expertise in Python, Pytest, and testing methodologies will be crucial in enabling high-quality, reliable releases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable, maintainable automation frameworks using Python and Pytest.

  • Drive automation strategy across the team to increase test coverage and reduce manual effort.

  • Write efficient, reusable, and reliable test scripts for API, UI, and backend services.

  • Perform deep debugging and root cause analysis of issues across application layers.

  • Collaborate with developers to understand architecture/design and identify test gaps early.

  • Ensure strong adherence to testing best practices, including test planning, test case design, and test data management.

  • Implement CI/CD-ready automation and integrate tests into build pipelines.

  • Mentor junior QA/SDET team members on automation concepts and best practices.

  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and contribute to technical improvements.

  • Track, analyze, and report on quality metrics, defect trends, and automation progress.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 7 to 9 years of professional experience in QA/SDET roles.

  • Strong knowledge of software testing concepts, test design techniques, and QA processes.

  • Hands-on experience with Python and strong proficiency in Pytest.

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing automation frameworks from scratch.

  • Strong debugging skills with the ability to identify, isolate, and fix issues in distributed systems.

  • Experience with API automation, UI automation, and backend validation.

  • Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.).

  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
