The Risk and Compliance function plays a critical role in supporting sustainable business growth while ensuring compliance with UK regulation and Group standards.

We are looking for a Senior Risk Operations Analyst to join our team, combining hands‑on decision‑making with subject‑matter expertise across onboarding, credit and customer due diligence.

You will assess and make decisions on customer onboarding and lending applications within delegated authority, ensuring all activity aligns with policy, regulation and risk appetite. As a subject‑matter expert, you will support quality, governance and continuous improvement while helping to develop team capability and maintain strong operational controls.

The key responsibilities of the role are as follows

  • Assess and make decisions on onboarding and lending applications within delegated authority.
  • Act as a subject‑matter expert across credit and/or Customer Due Diligence, ensuring regulatory and policy standards are met.
  • Analyse customer documentation, financial data and structures to assess risk.
  • Carry out customer due diligence across onboarding, remediation and periodic reviews.
  • Produce clear, accurate and auditable decision records.
  • Escalate complex or high‑risk cases to the appropriate teams in a timely manner.
  • Deliver against performance, quality and service level targets.
  • Continuously review and improve operational processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Support change initiatives and process improvements to enhance the customer journey.
  • Manage workflow and prioritisation to ensure efficient team performance.
  • Build strong relationships across Risk, Compliance and wider business teams.
  • Deputise for the team manager where required.
  • Support coaching and development of colleagues to improve capability and consistency.

Skills and experience required

  • Experience in credit risk, onboarding or Customer Due Diligence within financial services.
  • Strong financial analysis and understanding of complex customer structures.
  • Experience working within a regulated, risk‑focused environment.
  • Knowledge of governance, controls and audit requirements.
  • Ability to interpret data and use it to support decision‑making.
  • Knowledge of UK financial services regulation.
  • Experience using underwriting or risk systems is advantageous.
