About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Risk Analytics Consultant


In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives, and delivering insight and decision strategies within analytics and reporting, and contribute to large-scale planning related to Risk Analytics

  • Review and analyze moderately complex data aggregation, forecasting, reporting, and programming models

  • Be responsible for process production, data reconciliation, and model documentation in alignment with policy governance

  • Resolve data, production, business modeling, and lead team to meet Risk Analytics deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of risk reporting policies, modeling strategies, procedures, regulatory requests, and compliance requirements

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, experienced managers, compliance, and technology to resolve modeling, forecasting, and production issues, and achieve analytic and reporting goals

  • Lead projects, teams, and mentor less experienced staff

  • Partner with cross enterprise risk analysts in development of common modeling strategies


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:
·    Minimum 5+ years of experience in Second Line of Defence, Risk Management, Operational Risk, Compliance roles, Internal Audit, or related fields.
·    Demonstrated experience in Risk Analytics to drive actionable insights from complex datasets to support operational risk management and strategic decision-making.
·    Advanced proficiency in BI and coding tools (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, Xceptor, Python, R, JavaScript).
·    Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
·    Ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
·    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
·    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
·    Experience in risk management-related automation and efficiency initiatives.
·    Familiarity with operational risk management programs such as RCSA (Risk and Control Self-Assessment), IM (Issue Management), ORE (Operational Risk Events), RM (Risk Monitoring), and Risk Assessments.
·    Exposure to shared services models, including working in centralized risk monitoring or support environments, and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as business units, risk management, compliance, and technology.
·    Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as business units, risk management, compliance, and technology. 
·    Ability to identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities using analytics.

·    Flexible to work across different time zones as per business requirements.

·    Execute assigned monitoring activities across operational risk programs in ORP, ensuring adherence to quality and SLA standards.
·    Document findings with sufficient detail and engage stakeholders for review and finalization.
·    Analyse large and complex datasets and underlying data elements using advanced statistical, machine learning, and data mining techniques to identify trends, red flags, emerging risks, and systemic issues.
·    Support RM SSC in creation and enhancement of monitoring activities, including simplification and automation opportunities.
·    Collaborate with ORBOs, RTTs, and senior stakeholders to refine monitoring activities, support deployment of new activities and drive innovation in analytics and automation.
·    Demonstrate understanding of banking Lines of Businesses (LOBs) --such as Retail Banking (deposits, loans, credit cards), Commercial Banking (SME lending, cash management), and Wealth Management (investment products, portfolio services)  -- to ensure effective risk monitoring and oversight.
·    Participate in management routines to align on expectations and manage escalations.
·    Present complex analytical findings and recommendations to senior leadership and program stakeholders in a clear, actionable manner.
·    Stay abreast of industry trends in risk analytics, data science, and regulatory expectations, and proactively recommend enhancements to RM SSC's analytics capabilities.
·    Develop, automate, and optimize monitoring routines and dashboards using BI tools (Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, Xceptor) and coding languages (Python, R, JavaScript).
·    Contribute to development of data quality checks and validation procedures.
