About The Role

This role supports elements of finance responsibilities for the CFO, Life Insurance. The role is primarily focused on forecasting and quarterly earnings analysis.

Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Forecasting

  • Support the Life Finance team in preparing the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and ongoing outlook updates.

  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate business performance, trends, and profitability within Life operations.

  • Partner with business units and cross-functional teams to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and ensure alignment with financial objectives.

Expense Budgeting & Analysis

  • Monitor departmental and operational expenses; identify variances versus plan and provide clear explanations and recommendations.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining reports, dashboards, and tools to track expense performance and cost efficiencies.

  • Support the implementation of process improvements to enhance accuracy and transparency in expense management.

Financial Reporting & Insights

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages summarizing key results, trends, and drivers across the Life Finance portfolio.

  • Perform ad hoc analysis to support business decisions, strategic initiatives, and cost optimization opportunities.

  • Communicate findings in a clear, concise, and actionable way to finance leadership and business partners.

Collaboration & Team Support

  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Actuarial, Operations, and other functions to ensure financial accuracy and consistency.

  • Provide analytical and reporting support for projects, business cases, and operational initiatives within Life Finance.

  • Exhibit flexibility and a “roll up your sleeves” attitude, stepping in to assist wherever needed to support team objectives.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or budgeting (experience in life insurance/annuity industry preferred).

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Advanced Excel skills required; familiarity with planning and reporting tools a plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively across teams and levels.

Work Location
