Senior Reporting Manager (12 month Fixed Term Contract)

The Finance Centre is Grosvenor’s centre of excellence for financial reporting and control. Within this framework, the Reporting Team manage the UK Urban Property business and wider Group internal and external reporting requirements. Collectively these businesses manage c.£10bn of assets and c.£6bn of Grosvenor’s equity, deployed internationally across development and investment activities. 


The UK Urban Property business (GPUK) has c.£6bn of property Assets Under Management. The portfolio contains residential, retail, office and hotel assets located in Mayfair and Belgravia, many of which have been owned by the business for hundreds of years. The UK business also has a strong Development business, which focuses on redevelopment of property on the London Estate, along with an Investment business which currently owns offices across regional cities and a residential lending business.


Grosvenor is currently in the middle of a global transformation programme (Fusion project) which involves changing our global reporting software to OneStream and also designing and implementing a new ERP – Dynamics 365. To increase capacity within the Finance Centre this role will manage quarterly and annual management, investor and statutory reporting cycles freeing up time particularly for the Head of UK Reporting and Head of Group Reporting to work more on project Fusion.


This role represents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious candidate to develop knowledge and skills in a large multi-sector property business. The role will also play a vital role alongside the UK Finance Manager, in consolidating GPUK’s forecast and budget processes and will work closely with GPUK’s finance business partners to provide insightful reporting in this area.
With responsibility for significant accounting and reporting processes, the role requires strong time management and prioritisation and a commitment to creatively identifying and realising efficiencies through performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage year to date financial reporting, providing insight and commercial challenge over the performance of GPUK.
  • Manage the production of all management and statutory financial reporting across GPUK working closely with the UK Finance Manager.
  • Delivery of financial information to 3rd party investors and supporting the finance business partners in the provision of high quality investor reporting.
  • Management of the annual external audit process of those entities (December year-end).
  • Contributing insightful and commercially driven commentary on the year to date results for the consolidated quarterly management accounts.
  • Review key deliverables that are prepared by others in the team.
  • Be a leader in the reporting team, setting the tone for high standards, developing talent and promoting an inclusive and ambitious culture with a motivated and enthusiastic team.
  • Maintain documentation on agreed processes and actively identify and implement ways to improve processes.
  • Support where needed with workstreams related to the design and implementation of the new ERP and Reporting systems.

Key Relationships

  • Work closely with the Head of UK Reporting and the UK Finance Manager in the management of the quarterly and year end reporting cycles.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the finance business partnering team to ensure strong communication of the year to date results to inform their forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Build strong relationships with relevant senior stakeholders such as Director, Finance Centre, Head of Group Reporting, the GPUK CFO and senior members of the GPUK business teams in order to provide them with insightful financial reporting to inform their commercial decision making.

 

Key Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) and able to demonstrate reasonable post-qualified experience.
  • Highly numerate with demonstrative experience of delivering insight into large volumes of data.
  • Advanced excel skills, and experience using accounting software (e.g. Yardi Voyager, Cognos, OneStream, Caseware).
  • Track record of delivering high quality reporting to deadlines.
  • Experience working with auditors and driving improvements in year end processes.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication with clarity and simplicity.
  • Strong technical skills, including a working knowledge of complex accounting standards.
  • Skilled at identifying and implementing process and other requirements to drive efficiency and productivity.
