About the Role
An exciting opportunity awaits you as an experienced engineering leader to step into the role of Senior Reliability Engineer – Mobile Equipment, based at our Huntly Mine.
In this position, you will lead a small team of reliability engineers across both our Huntly and Willowdale mine sites. You will set the direction and objectives of the mobile asset reliability engineering team, managing their day-to-day strategic workload and providing support to the mobile maintenance department. You will also ensure reliability alignment across Alcoa’s Western Australian Operations.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Facilitating and leading problem solving and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major downtime events
Evaluating equipment failure modes, using your engineering expertise to develop solutions that eliminate or mitigate defects and potential failures
Reviewing and updating equipment maintenance strategies, including bills of materials, condition monitoring, inspection, and maintenance activities
Collaborating with the centralised Asset Management team, who provide governance for Reliability Excellence programs and standards
Monitoring and reporting on asset health, downtime, availability, and performance management for all mobile assets, ensuring visibility of potential risk areas
Assisting in business case development and identifying current conditions for equipment reliability capital projects, while acting as a key stakeholder to ensure reliability is incorporated into all capital projects
Your role will be critical in helping us achieve the goals and business plan objectives of our two Western Australian Bauxite Mines.

What you can bring to the role
Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to connect, work with, and influence at all levels of the organisation
A tertiary qualification in mechanical or automotive engineering
A genuine passion for environment, health, and safety
Previous experience in leading, coaching, and developing teams to achieve outcomes
Previous experience working with heavy earth-moving equipment

About the Location
Huntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world’s second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa’s Pinjarra alumina refinery. Bauxite ore from Alcoa’s Huntly and Willowdale mines helps to produce almost half of Australia’s alumina and approximately 19 per cent of Australia’s aluminium.
