Job Description:

Parsons is now hiring a Senior RAMS Engineer working within a team of professionals working on specific projects or helping to develop our expanding portfolio of projects.   The role would require you to be in the Burnaby, BC., Toronto, or Ottawa area

Detailed Job Requirements:

You are a RAMS professional and working for Railway Projects. You are a member involved in Project Life Cycle activities & worked closely with Project Engineering (Design and V&V) Teams, peers & the Customers. You are responsible for establishing and/or maintaining the safety management and engineering processes that will be followed to demonstrate the safety of the system . Using the customer requirements and the country-specific regulations/standards to be applied, you will establish the system requirements with regard to reliability (R), availability (A), maintainability (M) and safety (S) Your role also includes:

  • Close coordination with engineering, development, system suppliers, validation, assessors/authorities to ensure that work is performed efficiently
  • Safety Case demonstration based on EN50129 and system life cycles activities according to EN50126.
  • Documentation for demonstration of overall system performance and agreed safety acceptance criteria.
  • Identification and management of hazards and assessment of the associated risks(Hazard Log management)
  • Conducting Safety Analyses. Support for System Safety Plan, Safety Reports and other safety documents like Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), System / Sub-System Hazard Analysis (SHA / SSHA), Interface Hazard Analysis (IHA), Operational & Support Hazard Analysis (OSHA) and overall Hazard log management.
  • Conducting RAM Analyses. Support for System RAM Plan, RAM Analysis and Prediction, Reliability Block Diagram (RBD), Failure Modes Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMEA / FMECA) ,Quantitative Risk Assessment, RAM Demonstration, FRACAS analysis, Spare calculation.
  • Implementation of quality, configuration, and documentation management directives applicable.
  • Review and validate Verification and Validation process and T&C activities from a Safety perspective.
  • Participation in Safety Reviews managed by Quality team.
  • Review for adherence to RAMS requirements, e.g., review of system architecture, SRS, other project documents

We don’t need superheroes, just super minds

  • You have degree (Master's/Bachelors) in technical engineering, preferably in electrical/electronic engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer registration with active membership in a professional engineering society is an advantage
  • Technical knowledge on main subsystems of a railway turnkey project.
  • Experience in reading and understanding technical requirements.
  • Knowledge on standards associated with CEN EN50128, 50129, 50126
  • Experience with ISO/IEC/IEEE-15288 Standard for Systems and Software Engineering processes, and alignment with the RAMS Lifecycle
  • Practitioner of ALARP principle.
  • Knowledge on MIL-HDBK-217 FN2 or similar standards
  • Knowledge on MIL-STD-1629A or similar standards
  • Experience with Reliability Analysis tools Isograph Reliability Workbench, ReliaSoft, Item Toolkit ,Relex or similar tools
  • Familiar with Configuration tools like DOORS ClearQuest, Livelink, Citrix Application.

Salary Range: $117,500 - $167,500
