About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer who brings a strong QA foundation and the ability to independently define, drive, and execute testing strategies across complex systems.

This role is ideal for a hands‑on QA professional with a strong foundation in quality assurance principles, proven experience in manual, functional, and API testing, and the confidence to design and execute test strategies from scratch.

You will play a critical role in shaping how quality is defined, measured, and delivered across complex systems. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter and problem solver, comfortable operating with autonomy, influencing cross‑functional teams, and advocating for quality at every stage of the SDLC.

What You’ll Do

Quality Strategy & Execution

  • Design, implement, and evolve end‑to‑end test strategies for new and existing applications, including functional, regression, integration, and API testing.
  • Perform hands‑on manual and functional testing, ensuring software meets business requirements, quality standards, and user expectations.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive, high‑value test library with minimal redundancy, covering positive, negative, edge‑case, and regression scenarios.
  • Ensure thorough requirements traceability, identifying gaps, risks, and ambiguities early in the development lifecycle.

API & Systems Testing

  • Plan, execute, and analyze API tests to validate data integrity, business logic, error handling, and system integrations.
  • Partner with development and architecture teams to understand backend workflows, dependencies, and integration points.

Collaboration & Influence

  • Actively participate in requirements, design, and architecture reviews, providing thoughtful feedback on testability, usability, and risk.
  • Build strong relationships with Product, Engineering, and Business partners, serving as a trusted advisor and quality advocate.
  • Clearly communicate test results, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Defect Management & Metrics

  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and impact analysis.
  • Establish, track, and report QA metrics that demonstrate quality health, test effectiveness, and release readiness.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to QA processes and continuous improvement opportunities.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Own QA efforts for assigned initiatives with minimal oversight, managing priorities and delivering on commitments.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to junior QA team members, promoting best practices and strong QA fundamentals.
  • Collaborate with automation teams to ensure manual test cases are automation‑ready and aligned with automation strategy (hands‑on automation is not required, but strong understanding is).

Operational Support

  • Provide accurate effort estimates, manage testing timelines, and ensure on‑time delivery.
  • Participate in a rotational on‑call schedule, as needed, to support releases or production issues.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Must be able to work out of Overland Park, KS
  • 3+ years of hands‑on quality assurance experience, with a strong emphasis on manual, functional, and API testing.
  • Proven ability to create test plans, test strategies, and test cases from the ground up.
  • Deep understanding of QA methodologies, best practices, and SDLC processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to think abstractly and anticipate risk.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence across teams and levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage complex QA initiatives, and meet deadlines in fast‑paced environments.
  • High attention to detail and a passion for delivering high‑quality, reliable software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within Agile and structured delivery environments.
  • Exposure and understanding RCM Billing Testing Knowledge or RCM Background
  • Exposure to full software development lifecycle testing.
  • Experience testing web, desktop, and mobile applications across Windows, Linux, and iOS environments.
  • Familiarity with applications built using Java, .NET, Delphi, Objective‑C, and related technologies.
  • Solid understanding of test automation concepts, where automation adds value, and how to maintain automation suites (without needing to be a primary automation engineer).

What Success Looks Like in This Role

  • You proactively identify risks before they become defects.
  • You bring structure, clarity, and confidence to ambiguous testing efforts.
  • You raise the bar for quality—not just within QA, but across the entire product team.
  • You are known as someone who gets things done, speaks up thoughtfully, and truly owns quality outcomes.
