AFC team is responsible for protecting the bank from financial and reputational losses incurred by financial crimes by assessing, controlling and mitigating risks. Risk types related to Anti-Financial Crime are consolidated in a comprehensive and effective risk management framework that covers Anti-Money-Laundering, Sanctions & Embargoes, Anti-Bribery & Corruption as well as Anti-Fraud & Investigations.

A Senior QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring high-quality delivery of complex software systems through strong test engineering, automation, and collaboration. This role focuses on building quality into the development lifecycle by influencing design, improving testability, and delivering reliable, automated testing solutions.

The Senior QA Engineer is a hands-on contributor who takes ownership of quality within the team, drives automation-first practices, and continuously improves testing approaches using production insights, metrics, and feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive functional quality within the Scrum team, ensuring testing is embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Define and maintain test strategies and test plans aligned with functional and technical requirements.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated tests, with a strong focus on backend, API, and integration coverage.
  • Apply an automation‑first approach while performing manual and exploratory testing where it adds clear value.
  • Collaborate closely with Developers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Architects, and Dev Leads to ensure clear acceptance criteria and a consistent Definition of Done.
  • Ensure production releases are stable and high quality by preventing functional regressions and identifying quality risks early.
  • Collect, analyse, and communicate test results and quality insights to support delivery decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Share knowledge, best practices, and improvements with other QA engineers to ensure alignment with agreed QA standards.

Skills

  • Strong hands‑on experience in backend and API testing.
  • Proven experience in test automation, with automation as the primary testing approach.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber, Serenity, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices from a quality and testing perspective.
  • Good understanding of BDD and TDD concepts.
  • Strong Core Java knowledge, including:
  • Object‑Oriented Programming principles
  • Data structures
  • File handling
  • XML processing
  • Failure analysis and debugging
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and Unix/Linux commands.
  • Strong QA mindset with excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience creating and executing test strategies and test plans.
  • Ability to balance automation and manual testing to ensure comprehensive functional coverage.
  • Proven ability to ensure production readiness from a functional quality perspective.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable working in cross‑functional Agile / Scrum teams.
  • Hands‑on experience with Jira for defect management, prioritisation, and triage.
