What is the Opportunity?

The Cash and Trade Finance Technology team provides digital solutions to our partners within RBC Personal and Commercial Banking, Capital Markets and Investor & Treasury Services. Our broad range of products and highly responsive service offers exceptional value to clients.

By joining our team, you will work with cross-functional internal business, operations and technology partners as well as third party vendors to deliver highly visible and strategic technology solutions.

In this role you will be responsible for delivery on a large project of medium complexity, leveraging iterative waterfall delivery methodology and agile principles to solve our clients’ current and future needs.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for end-to-end project delivery of one large project or multiple medium to high complexity projects. Organize and facilitate project meetings as required.

  • Implement and oversee project processes and procedures; monitor the productivity and performance of project team.

  • Proactively manage project changes, identify and resolve complex issues/risks, escalate and provide recommendations to senior leadership as required.

  • Manage project financials, statement of work/contracts, resource forecasting and lead all project deliverables of assigned project(s) to ensure success.

  • Develop integrated baseline project plans applying estimated models; document estimating assumptions, refine plans and manage performance against plan

  • Effectively manage overall project deliverables using RBC iterative Waterfall or Agile Management Framework

  • Manage project communications including status reports to executives, stakeholders, business units, vendors, project team, etc. 

  • Partner with the Business and Operations on factors affecting Organizational Change that need to be planned for and managed accordingly based on degree of change being introduced into the organization by the project.

What do you need to Succeed?

Must Have

  • 7-10+ years as a Project Manager of mid to large size multi-year technical projects, with multiple application interfaces

  • Proactive approach to project delivery, excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail

  • Highly motivated and has experience working within fixed and tight timelines

  • Experience working with third party software vendors and consulting service providers

  • SDLC, AGILE, Waterfall and other software lifecycle frameworks

  • Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related (technical) degree or diploma

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in the banking or financial sector

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and Agile Certification

  • Strong knowledge and experience using Jira and Confluence
