The role
As a Project Manager, Medical Affairs here at Illumina, you will play a critical role in supporting our EMEALA Medical Affairs team by driving the coordination of key scientific collaborations and international consortia. You will work closely with Regional Medical Leads and cross‑functional partners across Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Market Access, and Clinical Research to ensure projects progress efficiently, compliantly, and with excellent visibility across internal teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, highly collaborative environment and is motivated by work that advances scientific understanding and patient impact.
Illumina's employee benefits are industry-leading and include flexible time off, private medical insurance, compassion and care time off, leisure travel insurance, pension, employee stock purchasing program, volunteer time off, and much more!
Why you
You are an experienced project manager who excels at leading, organising, and executing complex, multi‑stakeholder initiatives. With hands-on experience managing EU‑funded projects and a solid grasp of EU grant rules and processes, you bring the rigour and attention to detail needed for international consortia work.
Your communication skills - both spoken and written - are exceptional, enabling you to collaborate effectively with medical, scientific, operational, and external partners. A background in medical or scientific environments is highly beneficial, helping you understand the nuances of Medical Affairs and research-driven programmes.
You are fluent in English and ideally proficient in an additional major European language (such as French, Spanish, German, or Italian). Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple fast-paced initiatives, you combine strong technical skills in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and project management platforms like Jira or Smartsheet. You are as confident working independently as you are leading cross-functional teams.
