Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Management Specialist (Level 4) to join the Starliner Commercial Crew Program Management team in Kennedy Space Center, FL!

The Boeing Company is seeking an experienced Project Management Specialist who will support the Starliner Crew Module IPT to provide oversight and management of a portfolio of small to medium size projects that contribute to current and new business growth within the program.  The Experienced Project Management Specialist position will be responsible for the full lifecycle of the project(s), including engineering development from concepts of operations through requirements, design, build, integration, test, certification, and deployment of the Starliner products. This role requires system engineering acumen, analytical problem-solving, program management skills, and “leadership through influence” skills in a fast-paced team environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of all phases of project development across cross-organization units and product teams with Boeing Values and Program Management Best Practices
  • Develop and implement project level planning and content summaries for management review
  • Provide oversight of technical approaches, products and processes, as well as solutions to project related problems as they arise
  • Provide lessons learned and historical reports for projects upon completion for future projects
  • Provide mentorship for project planning, implementation, and metrics for a maturing project team
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with project stakeholders, peers, and partners
  • Coordinate and provide project level metrics

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, or STEM field w/ 10+ years’ experience or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience leading multi-functional teams and/or projects
  • 5+ years of experience leading complex systems new product development or production
  • 3+ years of experience performing Earned Value Management

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Understanding of Starliner program
  • Experience with uncrewed/autonomous systems
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Experience with Model Based Engineering and Engineering Lifecycles
  • Exceptional interpersonal skill and self-sufficient ability to lead teams, including coaching and mentoring
  • Demonstrated ability act strategically and tactically to support successful project completion
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong Continuous Improvement skills and customer focus
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated creative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding targets goals and strong skills in program execution to schedule and budget

Summary pay range: $118,150 - $159,850
