About you and this role:

The Senior Project Controls Manager is the first among equals for the Project Controls (PjC) Team supporting Large Capital projects for Central Engineering within Dow and is accountable for the entire PjC effort on a project.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Project Control assignments, concerns, and performance while collaborating with the Director of Project Control Leads.
  • Attends all project development and strategy meetings to ensure you are aware and are actively contributing to the development of the project execution plans.
  • Expectations for the PCL are to be aware of, and be prepared to articulate, project changes that could either negatively or positively affect the success of a project related to estimate, schedule, cost forecasts, resourcing, execution plans, etc.
  • Establishes controls and operating guidelines that identify, monitor, and mitigate risk factors that impact the success of the project.
  • Coordinate and facilitate schedule and cost review meetings throughout the FEL, detailed design, and construction phases.
  • Work within the project leadership team to manage and properly communicate change in a clear, data-driven, and concise method.
  • Represent project controls in the project execution risk review process to ensure the impact and evaluation of risks are properly reflected.
  • The Senior Project Controls Manager must exhibit Dow’s Code of Business Conduct and represent Dow and the Project Controls Department professionally and effectively to Dow’s business partners and third parties. Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree OR in lieu of a degree, 11 years of project controls, engineering, manufacturing, or related experience.
  • A minimum of 6 years project controls, engineering, manufacturing, or related experience.
  • Must be willing and able to meet all applicable requirements related to business travel both domestic and international.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

  • Project Schedules: In project management, a schedule is a listing of a project's milestones, activities, and deliverables, usually with intended start and finish dates. Those items are often estimated by other information included in the project schedule of resource allocation, budget, task duration, and linkages of dependencies and scheduled events.
  • Strategic Planning: Strategic planning is an organization's process of defining its strategy, or direction, and making decisions on allocating its resources to pursue this strategy.
  • Project Management: Project management is the process of leading the work of a team to achieve goals and meet success criteria at a specified time. The primary challenge of project management is to achieve all of the project goals within the given constraints. This information is usually described in project documentation, created at the beginning of the development process. The primary constraints are scope, time, budget. The secondary challenge is to optimize the allocation of necessary inputs and apply them to meet pre-defined objectives.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Interdisciplinary collaboration refers to the teamwork that occurs when colleagues from different disciplines work together in order to learn about each other’s field of expertise. As a result of interdisciplinary collaboration, opportunities are created that may not have been discovered if the collaboration had not taken place
  • Cost Management: Cost management is the process of planning and controlling the costs associated with running a business. It includes collecting, analyzing and reporting cost information to more effectively budget, forecast and monitor costs.
  • Costs Engineering: Costs engineering is the engineering practice devoted to the management of project cost, involving such activities as estimating, cost control, cost forecasting, investment appraisal and risk analysis.
  • Project Risk Management: Project risk management activities are applied to project management. Project risk is defined as an uncertain event or condition that, if it occurs, has a positive or negative effect on a project's objectives.
  • Stakeholder Communications: Stakeholder communication addresses the regular exchange between a company and its stakeholders. It differs according to type, means, frequency and time.
