Job Description – Travel Manager (India)

Location: India (PAN India oversight)

Function: Corporate Services / Facility & Administration

Reporting To: Head – Corporate Real Estate / Admin


 

Role Summary

The Travel Manager will be responsible for end-to-end management of corporate travel and logistics across India, covering employees, leadership, and client travel. The role involves strategic vendor management, cost optimization, policy governance, and seamless travel experience delivery, including domestic and international travel, visa & immigration support, and event logistics.

Key Responsibilities

1. Travel Operations Management

  • Manage end-to-end travel arrangements (domestic & international) for employees, leadership, and clients
  • Ensure 24x7 travel support for urgent and business-critical travel needs
  • Oversee flight bookings, hotel accommodations, ground transport, and itineraries
  • Ensure seamless travel experience with minimal disruptions
     

2. Vendor & Partner Management

  • Manage relationships with Travel Management Companies (TMCs) (e.g., AMEX, MakeMyTrip Corporate, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain strategic tie-ups with airlines, hotels, and transport vendors
  • Negotiate commercial contracts, SLAs, and pricing agreements
  • Monitor vendor performance through KPIs and SLAs

3. Travel Policy & Governance
Design, implement, and enforce corporate travel policies

  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Cost guidelines
    • Approval workflows
    • Audit requirements
  • Drive standardization across locations (PAN India)
     

4. Cost Optimization & Analytics

  • Track and optimize travel spend and budgets
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through:
    • Vendor negotiations
    • Travel pattern analysis
    • Advance booking strategies
  • Publish monthly MIS, dashboards, and insights

5. Visa & Immigration Management

  • Oversee visa processing, documentation, and compliance
  • Coordinate with embassies, consultants, and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to international travel regulations and timelines

6. Travel Risk & Crisis Management

  • Handle travel disruptions, cancellations, and emergencies
  • Support employees during:
    • Flight cancellations
    • Geopolitical risks
    • Medical emergencies
  • Align with Business Continuity Plans (BCP) for critical travel scenarios

7. Event & Logistics Support

  • Support corporate events, leadership visits, and client engagements
  • Manage bulk travel bookings and logistics coordination
  • Ensure high-quality experience for VIP and executive travel

8. Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with:
    • Business units
    • HR
    • Finance
    • Leadership teams
  • Act as a single point of contact for all travel-related matters
     

9. Team Management
        Lead and manage travel desk / operations team

  • Drive team productivity, SLAs, and service excellence
  • Build a high-performance, customer-centric team

  • SLA adherence (booking TAT, issue resolution)
  • Employee satisfaction (CSAT)
  • Vendor performance metrics
  • Policy compliance rate
  • Zero critical travel disruptions


 

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)
  • 8–15 years of experience in corporate travel / logistics management
  • Experience in managing PAN India operations
  • Strong exposure to international travel & visa processes
  • Prior experience with TMCs and travel platforms

Knowledge of BCP, risk management, and compliance frameworks
