At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We’re turning today’s impossible into tomorrow’s standard – from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features.

Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Program Manager for Privacy & Consent Software Platforms to lead high-impact, enterprise-scale privacy initiatives across GM’s digital ecosystem. This role is responsible for translating complex regulatory and business requirements into executable software programs that strengthen GM’s global privacy and consent capabilities.

You will work closely with Legal, Engineering, Product, Data Governance, and other stakeholders to ensure privacy standards are consistently designed, implemented, and maintained across customer- and enterprise-facing platforms. Strong cross-functional leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization are critical for success.

As a member of the PMO within GM, you will join the Identity, Setup & Privacy program management team, responsible for delivering products that shape the customer journey – from GM Account creation and vehicle connectivity for OnStar Services to managing customer privacy preferences.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of complex, cross‑functional software programs, translating privacy, regulatory, and business requirements into clear execution strategies and measurable outcomes.

  • Own program planning and governance, including scope, timelines, resources, dependencies, and risk management, proactively identifying issues and driving mitigation to ensure high‑quality delivery.

  • Partner closely with product, engineering, legal, and data teams to align priorities, influence decisions, and drive collaboration across technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

  • Drive change effectively in a fast‑paced environment by adapting plans as priorities evolve, maintaining transparency, and ensuring clear, timely communication at all levels.

  • Provide concise, executive‑level program updates using data, metrics, and narrative storytelling to communicate progress, risks, and decisions.

  • Model strong program leadership by operating with urgency, integrity, and professional courage, fostering a positive, inclusive, and results‑driven team culture aligned with GM’s core values.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 7+ years of project or program management experience, including ownership of complex, cross-functional initiatives

  • 5+ years of experience supporting software or data platforms

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or a related field

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence both technical and non-technical teams, including senior leaders

  • Experience defining, documenting, and operationalizing scalable processes

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to provide recommendations and sound judgment

  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective partnerships, including external and third-party resources

  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills

  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and persuasively

What will give you a competitive edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • MBA

  • PMP or equivalent certification

  • Experience leading large-scale, enterprise software or platform programs

  • Hands-on experience administering or configuring Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar delivery tools
