Our Genetic Sciences Division specializes in cutting-edge technologies including Capillary Electrophoresis, Micro Array, dPCR and qPCR solutions that enable scientists to amplify and analyze genetic material with precision and reliability, supporting breakthroughs in genomics, molecular biology, and personalized medicine.

Location: Based remotely in Spain (preferred), Italy or Portugal

We are seeking a Senior Product Specialist, Genomics to drive growth across Southern Europe, including Spain, Italy, and Portugal. This strategic, field-based role focuses on microarray with some some knowledge necessary in  Qpcr and next-generation sequencing solutions, including WES and WGS librairy.


A Day in the Life:
You will combine deep technical expertise with advanced consultative selling, engaging with senior decision-makers such as laboratory directors, executives, and key stakeholders. You will develop tailored solutions, build strong business cases, and deliver measurable value to customers in a complex sales environment with long sales cycles and structured deal models.


What to expect:

  • Drive revenue growth across the assigned Southern Europe territory through strategic account management and new business development
  • Engage with C-level stakeholders and lab leadership to understand business needs and position solutions based on return on investment and clinical or operational impact
  • Lead complex sales processes, including capital equipment sales, leasing, and reagent rental agreement
  • Develop and execute robust territory and account plans, managing a strong pipeline of opportunities
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing technical and application expertise in microarray, Qpcr and NGS librairy
  • Deliver high-impact presentations, demonstrations, and scientific discussions to diverse audiences
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, service, and application teams
  • Represent Thermo Fisher at conferences, trade shows, and customer event
  • Build a deep understanding of the territory, including key customers, ongoing contracts, and pipeline opportunities
  • Establish strong relationships with decision-makers and contribute to sustained business growth in the region


Keys to Success:
Education

  • Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, or a related field

Experience

  • Significant experience in technical sales within genomics, molecular diagnostics, or life sciences
  • Proven track record in managing complex, long sales cycles and achieving revenue targets
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders, including lab directors and executives, and building business cases
  • Experience in diagnostic laboratory environments preferred
  • Experience presenting at scientific conferences preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong expertise in MicroArray workflow, in qPCR, NGS, including WES/WGS librairy preparation.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to translate technical solutions into customer value and ROI
  • Knowledge of reagent rental and leasing models preferred
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in Spanish and English required
  • Fluency in Italian preferred

Strong capabilities in strategic account management and consultative selling, with a clear customer focus and business acumen. Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, build scientific and technical credibility, effectively manage sales pipelines, and engage diverse stakeholders.
