Overview
The Franchise and Legal Solutions (FLS) Program contributes to the future of Mastercard by enabling growth in products, markets, services and innovations in an increasingly complex and competitive environment, while protecting our brand and business. We support, enable, and protect the franchise agreement by implementing the rules of the road for anyone interacting with our business. Our teams design, develop, and maintain comprehensive business solutions that connect the dots across different regions and functions. Our deep technology portfolio offers ample room for engineers to use innovation as a driver of strategy. Technologists working with us will grow in Agile, architecture, design, engineering, and strategy.
ROLE
Our PMT’s own an agile scrum team's product backlog, translate business requirements into technical stories, define clear acceptance criteria, and ensure the team is delivering value in each iteration. The ideal candidate is a proficient scrum product owner that is passionate about the customer experience journey, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.
Role
• Understand the business requirements and translate them into features and stories
• Create and elaborate user stories, set acceptance criteria, and groom the product backlog
• Ensure that needed work is well understood by the developers so the they can continually make progress.
• Own and manage product documentation ensuring features and associated documentation are clear and easily consumable by engineering teams.
• Protect the team from over-committing to work, internal and external randomization
• Help the team to demo successfully and commit to it confidently.
• Coach the team, within the Scrum principles, to deliver high-quality features for its product(s)
• Educate key stakeholders and the rest of the organization on Scrum and Agile principles
• Identify issues that will keep the features from delivering on time and/or with the desired requirements and work with internal teams and customer service to identify, classify, and prioritize feature-level customer issues
• Prepare launches and monitor platform performances, adoption, and operational health for feature sets
All About You
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related discipline with relevant experience as a product owner, product manager, or related area
• Considerate, polite, fun-loving, collaborative
• Proficient at grooming user stories, setting acceptance criteria and prioritizing a platform product backlog
• Proficient with project tracking tools such as Rally or JIRA. Familiarity with Aha! Is a plus
• Ability to analyze and think quickly, and to resolve conflicts
• Exhibit an advanced level of emotional intelligence and have a history of helping teams deliver high-value work
Knowledge of information technologies in software architecture and design, programming, APIs, security, databases, infrastructure, platform, UI/UX, and cloud.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to quickly understand technical work to help size and unblock Scrum teams
• Problem solver and ability to work around obstacles to achieve goals
• Must have a collaborative working style with a strong focus on disciplined execution and results
Proficient with MS Office tools.
• Proficient with project tracking tools such as Rally or JIRA. Familiarity with Aha! Is a plus.
