General Motors

Senior Product Manager - Simulation Evaluation Applications

Sunnyvale, California, United States of America Full time

Job Description

The Role

General Motors pioneers the innovations that move and connect people to what matters. We see a world with zero crashes, zero emissions, and zero congestion. Autonomous vehicles are central to achieving this vision—where long‑term innovation meets safety, customer trust, and durable competitive advantage.

The Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Product Management organization is responsible for defining and delivering GM’s autonomous driving roadmap—from near‑term customer value to long‑term eyes‑off autonomy at scale. Our mission is to deploy autonomy deliberately and profitably across GM’s portfolio, leveraging common platforms, data, and disciplined product strategy to improve safety, unlock new customer value, and create sustainable business outcomes globally.

As a Senior Product Manager for Evaluation Applications, you will define and execute the strategy and roadmap for our test and evaluation platform that powers test case and suite management, test triggering and execution, and self-service analysis workflows across GMs next generation autonomy teams. This role will drive innovation in how we manage and scale evaluation workflows end to end  from onboarding and organizing millions of scenarios to triggering tens of thousands of tests per request and supporting the infrastructure that transforms raw results into meaningful performance insights. You will enable high-fidelity, scalable, and trustworthy testing and analysis of GM’s next-generation autonomy and ADAS features by providing a unified platform.

Success requires strong technical judgment, principled decision-making, and the ability to build alignment across engineering, product, infrastructure, and operations teams. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, making tough tradeoffs, and thinking both from first principles and at fleet-wide scale

What You’ll Do

  • Own the long-term product vision, setting strategic direction for simulation evaluation applications across multiple autonomy capabilities, vehicle models and simulation modalities aligning with broader company goals.

  • Drive a unified platform roadmap across test management, triggering/execution, and analysis/evaluation—ensuring cohesive end-to-end workflows for internal customers.

  • Develop and implement strategies for systems and processes capable of evaluating simulated driving to predict on-road performance as well as evaluate on-road driving.

  • Lead a cross-functional team of stakeholders encompassing Embodied AI, Software Validation, Safety, Program, and Product Managers towards highly scalable, reliable and insightful end-to-end evaluation platform

  • Act as the voice of the customers from the multiple internal GM teams across development to validation, ensuring evaluation applications not just meet the needs of the customers but delight them by pushing the envelope on the insights that are possible and their scale.

  • Help drive a data-driven culture and establish and monitor key metrics to
measure the effectiveness of the Simulation Evaluation products

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 5+ years product management experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, or related fields.

  • Solid understanding of the modern data and analytics technology stack, including cloud data and data infrastructure

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive projects forward, even without a clear path.

  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership

  • Proven ability to balance tradeoffs between user needs and
expectations, technical requirements and constraints and business objectives.

  • Demonstrated expertise in writing, with the ability to effectively balance and integrate vision, strategy, and technical details in a cohesive narrative.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • An MBA or a master's Degree in a technical or engineering discipline

  • Experience working on evaluation, data and metric products and pipelines.

  • Experience managing products focused on ML model development and evaluation

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren, MI or Mountain View, CA office three times per week, at minimum.
