Senior Product Manager, Onboarding Experience

Adyen seeks a high-impact Senior Product Manager to build best-in-class, effortless, and instantaneous onboarding experiences through our suite of API, Hosted, Embedded Components. This role will create seamless experiences to accelerate global payments and embedded financial product growth which requires holistic thinking about merchant and sub-merchant problems and cross-functional collaboration with Design, Engineering, Analytics, Legal, and Commercial teams to simplify complexity for our merchants and submerchants.

What You'll Do:

  • Product Strategy: Define product vision and strategy focused on maximizing overall onboarding funnel performance and eliminating onboarding friction. Deeply understand merchant/sub-merchant pain points, regulatory complexity, market opportunities, and competitive landscapes to identify and validate high-impact growth opportunities.
  • Customer-Centric Development & Experimentation: Engage directly with all stakeholders to uncover hidden points of resistance and complexity. Leverage data to generate insights and guide product decisions that lead to designing, launching, analyzing A/B tests and experiments that drastically reduce cognitive load and create tangible, immediate value.
  • Build vs Buy Evaluations:  Assess when to build functionality in-house versus when to leverage third-party solutions through strategic partnerships. Make informed decisions that optimize for speed, cost, and long-term scalability.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with engineering, design, data, compliance/regulatory, and commercial teams to build and launch pilots/MVPs. Ensure clear communication and alignment across teams.
  • Performance & Iteration: Define metrics and KPIs to gauge the success of newly launched products, and iterate rapidly based on feedback, usage data, and changing market dynamics.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Navigation: Operate effectively within a highly regulated environment, serving as the bridge between product innovation and regulatory requirements. Partner intimately with compliance and legal counterparts to embed necessary controls into the onboarding flow while minimizing friction and maintaining operational speed.
  • Stakeholder Management: Present product concepts, updates, and results to executive leadership and secure buy-in on product directions and investments.

Who You Are:

  • 5 + years of experience as a Product Manager in a Fintech SaaS environment or growth related roles (B2B or B2C), successfully leading cross-functional teams to develop and launch innovative software solutions.

  • Simplifier: You have the ability to take an ambiguous or complex space and break it down into clear, actionable components. You help the team focus on the areas that matter most, making the problem space easier for your team to execute.

Location & Work Expectations 

  • This role is based in Chicago.
  • Adyen values in-person collaboration, and we are an office-first company.
  • Some international travel will be required.

Compensation 

  • The base salary for this role in Chicago ranges from $180,000 to $243,000, plus RSUs.
