Job Description

The Senior Product Manager for the Unity Video software team is a pivotal and high-impact role, chartered with defining the strategic direction of a high-value on-premise Video Management System (VMS) portfolio. This position requires comprehensive ownership of the product lifecycle, from developing strategic roadmaps and identifying core market opportunities to driving complex cross-functional execution and ensuring flawless customer delivery. You will operate as the critical subject matter expert, skillfully balancing technical complexity, evolving market demands, and business goals to deliver high-quality security solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Product Strategy: Independently drive the strategy, priorities and roadmap for your product area within the Unity Video portfolio.
  • Stakeholder & Executive Alignment: Effectively lead strategy discussions with the product team and participate in high-level strategy sessions with senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Market Expertise: Maintain deep knowledge of the entire Unity Video product and the broader security industry. Understanding the nuances of different verticals and regional customers needs to inform product direction.
  • User Empathy: Maintain a deep understanding of various customer and user personas. Act as a primary advocate for customer needs throughout the development process.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Use existing product and customer data to drive decisions, while identifying gaps in data sources to improve future product intelligence.
  • Feedback Loops: Design and lead effective beta programs and customer feedback initiatives to validate features and gather actionable insights.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Facilitate complex discussions between engineering, design, and other departments to ensure alignment and resolve dependencies.
  • Quality Standards: Partner with engineering leadership to anticipate and identify potential issues in proposed solutions. Review test results and readiness assessments to ensure every release meets our high quality expectations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Software Product Experience: Minimum of 5 years of product management experience, specifically driving the strategy and full lifecycle of enterprise-grade software products. 
  • Narrative Building: Proven ability to author clear, well-structured product narratives and vision documents that provide clear direction to product, design and development teams.
  • Presentation Skills: Experience creating and delivering professional presentations to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical Ability: Skilled at distilling insights, trends, and patterns from multiple customer interactions and data points.
  • Product Excellence: Expertise in modern product frameworks (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and the ability to define, launch, and measure the success of complex features and end-to-end customer experiences.
  • GenAI Proficiency/Prototyping: Hands-on experience utilizing LLMs or rapidly standing up AI-generated prototypes to iterate on product concepts.

What Sets You Apart

  • Systems Thinking & Integration: Proven ability to design and drive features that span complex, multi-component systems, ensuring seamless integration and consistent user experiences.
  • Technical Depth: Deep technical familiarity with enterprise software architecture, such as complex, on-premise VMS and hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Security Domain Knowledge: A deep understanding of the physical security or video security landscapes.

Target Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 CAD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
