About The Opportunity

The Sr. Product Manager is responsible to develop and manage product group strategies to create a leadership role for the company in their respective industry. Monitors all aspects of a product lifecycle, including long- and short-term development and marketing. Stays abreast of trends in the marketplace to ensure the product's competitive position. Leads internal project teams while capturing market insights to determine the product lines future direction. Represents ORBIS as the subject matter expert within the product segment of ownership.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1.       Develops and executes product line strategies in support of the Market segment strategy.

2.       Champions new product solution growth projects to meet market/customer needs and manages new product line extensions.

3.       Actively forecasts products on an on-going basis to develop capacity plans and manage inventory turns. Communicate deviations to sales forecast as appropriate.

4.       Contribute to the creation of an overall marketing communications plan.

5.       Monitor and understand competitor’s strategies and develop response to those strategies.

6.       Develops and maintains a positive relationship with customers and internal to ORBIS.

7.       Supports large opportunities on pricing issues. Develops market-pricing strategy (e.g., market share, capability, growth objective) and develops and monitors market share for assigned data.

8.       Actively participates in external facing boards, coalitions, industry forums, and or speaking engagements.

9.       Manage finished good inventory and specific customer program stock initiative.

10.   Manage direct reports, including performance and development.

11.   Builds strong internal collation of cross functional support to ensure product strategy execution.

12.   Other duties as assigned.

  • Deliver product group revenue and gross margin targets

  • Development and execution of product line strategies

  • Creation of new product development pipeline and execution of established targets

  • Management and career development of direct reports

 

Education/Certification

Level Required

Bachelor’s Degree

Business, Marketing, Finance or Engineering

Level Desired

Master’s Degree in Business

Experience in lieu of education may be considered

 

 

Work Experience

Required

5-7 years of relevant experience. Direct report management experience.

Desired

Product Management experience from within heavy industrial manufacturing, metal fabrication, – automotive packaging products, food and beverage or packaging preferred; experience in other market segments, also considered.

Travel Requirements

15-35% travel as needed to support assigned product lines, including customer sites, trade shows, sales calls and manufacturing plants.
