Job Summary
The role of Global ODM Quality Engineering (GOQ), covering SMT operations to Final Assembly operations at the supplier/ factory level, is of crucial importance.
They serve as the primary liaison with SC Operations and ODM suppliers and are responsible for promptly addressing any issues that may arise.
Additionally, GOQ Engineer VI supports the onboarding process for new or transitioning ODMs and ensures that all processes are executed to the highest standards of quality and consistency within the ODM factory.
Responsibilities
New factory or factory transition onboarding and setup.
Reviewing and developing manufacturing processes that contribute towards achieving Operational Excellence.
Providing technical support for Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) manufacturing and repair processes with the aim of enhancing their continuous improvement.
Performing risk assessment and communicating and mitigating operational risk.
Ensuring the quality performance of the ODM factory, with a focus on maintaining high yield rates and conducting thorough end-of-line outgoing quality audits.
Optimizing production UPH and capacity to ensure that all operations run efficiently and effectively, meeting the highest standards of quality and performance.
Providing feedback to relevant partners regarding issue warnings and ensuring that the solution is viable for the factory.
Implementing a shift left approach to enhance field performance optimization.
Conducting weekly quality reviews with ODM suppliers as an essential component of maintaining excellence in all aspects of the operations.
Conducting periodic audits of ODM suppliers, including process audits and QSA, and working with ODM factories to address any identified gaps.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering.
Candidates who have earned a Master's degree in these fields will be given preferential consideration.
Applicants are required to possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in SMT, Mechanical Assembly, Test, and Industrial Engineering.
Candidates shall have good knowledge of PC Product Engineering.
Having proficient expertise in Design for Excellence (DFx) techniques is an added advantage for candidates.
Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking - capabilities.
Ability to apply Lean Manufacturing to optimize operational activities; remains flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty.
Teamwork: able to fit in well with a team and understand capabilities and priorities while fostering a collaborative environment.
Excellent written and fluent English and local language.
Ability to effectively communicate manufacturing proposals and results and negotiate options at management levels.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills using 6-sigma techniques.
