The Senior Privacy Lead plays a critical role in shaping and driving QBE’s privacy strategy, risk management and responsible data use across AUSPAC, as part of the broader Group Privacy Team.
This is a senior, influential role working closely with business leaders to embed privacy‑by‑design, uplift privacy maturity and ensure regulatory and governance obligations are met across a complex, regulated environment.

Your new role
As Senior Privacy Lead, you will provide strategic leadership and hands‑on expertise to support the development and execution of QBE’s privacy strategy, roadmap and priorities across AUSPAC, while contributing to enterprise‑wide uplift through the Group Privacy Team. You will act as a trusted advisor, helping the business navigate privacy risk, regulatory obligations and responsible data and AI use in a pragmatic and commercial way.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and supporting the development and delivery of QBE’s privacy strategy, roadmap and priorities across AUSPAC and Group
Providing expert, pragmatic advice on privacy risk, controls, regulatory requirements and responsible data and AI use
Driving consistent implementation of Group privacy, data and AI policies across AUSPAC to manage divisional and enterprise risk
Overseeing key privacy governance activities, including PIAs, incidents and complaints, personal information flows, retention and transparency obligations
Partnering with Legal, Risk & Compliance, Technology, Cyber, Data and AI teams to embed privacy‑by‑design across initiatives and change activity
Developing meaningful reporting, insights and metrics for senior leaders and the Head of Privacy AUSPAC and Chief Privacy Officer to support informed decision‑making
About you
You are a senior privacy professional with deep subject‑matter expertise and experience operating in large, complex and regulated environments. You are comfortable balancing strategic thinking with operational delivery and are known for building strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders. You bring a solutions‑focused mindset and the confidence to lead, influence and challenge when needed.
What we’re looking for:
Strong experience in privacy risk management, governance, PIAs, incidents and regulatory engagement
Demonstrated ability to provide clear, pragmatic advice to senior stakeholders on complex privacy issues
Experience embedding privacy‑by‑design and responsible data and AI principles into business and technology initiatives
Proven capability in developing reporting, metrics and insights for executive and board‑level audiences
Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working across legal, risk, technology and data functions
Experience in insurance or financial services is beneficial, but not essential
