Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center. This role supports the SPY-6 Family of Radars, focusing on product development and release while providing technical oversight and direction to ensure successful delivery to customer organizations. Strong communication skills are essential to effectively convey solutions, results, and timelines to teammates and leadership.

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating product development with SPY-6 capability teams, product integration teams, and software feature development teams. You will collaborate with other technical staff within the SPY-6 Products organization to support portfolio and increment planning, prioritize deliverables, establish timelines for product release, and provide in-depth technical briefings to customer organizations.

This role can be based out of Marlborough, MA or Tewksbury, MA.

What You Will Do

  • Build and help lead a product organization to provide quality and on-schedule product release to test-sites and radar platforms as a key member of the technical staff.

  • Develop and maintain product development and release processes.

  • Assist SPY-6 Product Team technical staff and lead with SPY-6 portfolio planning, increment planning, product development capacity and team prioritization.

  • Develop and plan product integration and release epics, stories, and milestones within Jira.

  • Devise and adopt best practices and procedures for SPY-6 product development and release.

  • Oversee Configuration Management of SPY-6 products, including Build Handoff Packages

  • Support establishment of Trunk-based development pipelines for SPY-6 variants, including infrastructure, industry-standard tooling, and change management guidance.

  • Travel occasionally (approximately 5%) to support mission execution at various facilities and test sites.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Experience with DoD software product Integration.

  • Experience in software release management and/or software configuration management.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with design, development, and analysis of DoD systems and software architectures.

  • Experience with MATLAB/Python/C++.

  • Requirements development experience, including use of DOORS.

  • Prior experience with SPY-6 software integration.

  • Agile product team experience for large-scale DoD programs.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Experience with technical writing and delivering oral presentations.

  • Systems engineering experience with large, complex DoD systems.

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in a STEM field.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
