Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Senior Principal Project Manager based on-site at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

Northrop Grumman Marine Systems-Cape Canaveral specializes in providing deployed systems support for launching and handling systems for the U.S./UK Navy TRIDENT II (D5) Fleet Ballistic Missile Program.  

The selected candidate will join our Integration team, providing cross-functional support to our deployed systems by overseeing engineering study projects, developing/maintaining program planning artifacts, coordinating the fulfillment of customer data calls, and performing other program support tasks. 

What You’ll Get To Do:

  • Establishes project milestones and monitors adherence to processes and schedules, identifies project risks, and manages risk mitigation or solutions. 

  • Ensures that contract requirements are met by coordinating project activities with participating functional organizations, vendors, or suppliers, which are necessary to meet project requirements.

  • Review the status of projects and budgets, manage schedules, and prepare status reports.

  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to maintain productivity, quality, and ensure alignment with customer goals and objectives.

  • Performs roles and responsibilities related to Control Account Manager (CAM) and Earned Value Management (EVM).

  • Acts as a customer contact for project activities, contributes to project status review sessions with internal management and customers to discuss cost, schedule, and performance.

  • Participates in the development of contract proposals and contract modifications.

  • Supports internal and customer meetings, including presentation material templates, collection, and content generation, meeting attendance for on-site integration, action item tracking, and post-meeting follow-up.

  • Skilled use of Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Project).

Basic Qualifications Senior Principal Project Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 8 years of relevant experience as defined below, OR a master’s degree and minimum 6 years of relevant experience as defined below.

  • Related experience includes professional and/or military experience, with a background in project management, program management, capture efforts, and business management-related functions.

  • Experience with SAP, ERP (or similar) system, Earned Value Management (EVM), and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

  • US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications Senior Principal Project Manager:

  • Experience with Control Account Manager (CAM) principles and/or Earned Value Management.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

  • Previous experience with the TRIDENT II Launcher Subsystem and Support Equipment.

  • Experience with DoD contracts and project management

  • Background working with the Department of Defense (DoD) customer

  • Experience working DFAR items, DD1149, and/or Navy contracts

  • Cost Account Manager (CAM) Certification with NG or other Govt contracts.

Primary Level Salary Range: $101,400.00 - $152,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
