We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer to join our Developer Enablement stream. This pivotal role is responsible for driving the strategic evolution of our internal development platform. The successful candidate will transition the team from a reactive support model to a proactive, embedded partnership with our engineering organisation.
You will champion a "platform-as-a-product" philosophy, with our internal engineers as your primary customers. Your objective will be to identify and eliminate friction within the software development lifecycle (SDLC), delivering strategic improvements that enhance developer productivity, satisfaction, and overall engineering velocity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and enhance sophisticated CI/CD processes, developer self-service tooling, and automated workflows to optimize the end-to-end developer experience
• Conduct research and development into emerging patterns and best practices, providing technical leadership and direction for the team's initiatives
• Serve as a subject matter expert on the internal platform, offering strategic consultation, guidance, and high-level support to engineering teams
• Mentor and guide other engineers, serving as an escalation point for complex technical challenges and contributing to the team's collective skill development
• Collaborate closely with key stakeholders across the technology organisation to architect and implement robust, scalable solutions that meet both current and future needs
• Actively engage with development teams and participate in their ceremonies to proactively identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement within the SDLC
About You:
• A demonstrated track record of leading and successfully delivering complex technical projects and initiatives within a platform engineering capacity
• Extensive, hands-on experience designing, building, and enhancing CI/CD pipelines and automated tooling to improve the developer experience
• Proficiency in one or more common programming and scripting languages (Python preferred)
• Strong, practical experience with major cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and IaC tools such as Terraform.
• In-depth understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and GitOps methodologies
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers
Preferred Experience:
• Familiarity with technologies, including agentic tooling and Kubernetes, is a significant plus
• You have a software engineering background and are proficient in .Net coding
Core Competencies:
• The ability to forecast future technical needs for developers and align platform initiatives with overarching business objectives
• The ability to architect solutions independently while actively seeking and integrating collaborative feedback from peers and stakeholders
• A strong commitment to treating internal engineering teams as valued customers and prioritizing their success
