This role is part of Commonwealth Bank Group, supporting Bankwest infrastructure.
The role of Senior Platform Engineer is to design, build, run and evolve tools, infrastructure, templates and capabilities that our other engineers use to deliver business value, and to write code that automates running our infrastructure and environments.
To achieve this, your role will require you to:
Collaboratively work with engineering teams to design, build and run platforms that they can use to deliver customer value at greater quality, velocity, and safety.
Maintain the underlying infrastructure to ensure that it is reliable, secure and scalable, including troubleshooting and resolving network incidents.
Integrate with public cloud infrastructure such as AWS and Azure, and manage hybrid cloud network integration.
Ensure all services within the IT service portfolio are managed with consideration to network, capacity, platform, scalability factors and target architecture.
Support and implement services and changes outside of regular business hours.
Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.
Network Automation: Proficiency in automating network device configurations using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Python.
Routing & Switching: Strong knowledge of IP routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, Multicast, VLANs, VPC, Spanning Tree, BFD, VXLAN, eVPN) and experience with F5 load balancers.
F5 Load Balancers: Advanced understanding and hands-on experience.
Cisco ISE Security Software and 802.1x: Expertise in identity-based networking and secure access control.
Cisco/Juniper Wireless Systems: Experience in deploying and managing enterprise wireless solutions.
Cisco DNAC Controller-Based Networks: Proficiency in automation and orchestration using Cisco DNA Center.
Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
Customer-Facing Skills: Clear communication with internal and external stakeholders, including business unit customers and vendors.
Vendor Expertise: Experience with major networking and security platforms such as Cisco and Palo Alto.
