Job Summary
The Senior Platform Engineer leads the advanced administration and configuration of cloud infrastructure and application code delivery on the cloud platform. Oversees infrastructure as code (IaC) and drives automation of complex deployment and administrative tasks. Ensures robust security of cloud components and application code through established CI/CD pipelines. Leads efforts to perform upgrades, enhancements, and software migrations to drive the successful deployment of cloud infrastructure and application code through all required standards and controls. Facilitates the scalable deployment of cloud infrastructure and application code.
Essential Job Functions
Proactively optimize cloud services for performance, identifying and resolving issues. Strategically manage user permissions to ensure security. Design backup strategies to maintain data integrity. Keep comprehensive records of system configurations and changes for compliance and troubleshooting. - (20%)
Lead the development of scripts for automated deployment. Integrate automated tests in the CI/CD pipeline to proactively identify issues. Resolve complex deployment issues and collaborate with developers to enhance code integration. Drive process improvements to reduce downtime and boost efficiency. - (20%)
Design and configure advanced monitoring tools and dashboards. Set up sophisticated alerts for critical issues. Analyze monitoring data for trends and potential problems. Deliver insightful reports to stakeholders and enhance monitoring solutions for new technologies. - (20%)
Drive cross-functional meetings to gather and refine requirements. Ensure alignment between teams on cloud initiatives. Resolve complex conflicts in priorities and maintain detailed records of discussions. Ensure timely completion of agreed actions. - (20%)
Regularly assess resource utilization for optimization. Forecast future needs based on trends. Develop plans for scaling resources in response to demand. Ensure efficient allocation to minimize waste and reduce costs. Continuously refine plans for changing needs. - (20%)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent, relevant work experience
1 or more Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Google Cloud DevOps Engineer, Certified Developer for Apache Kafka.
5+ years of relevant experience working across areas of the Platform engineering.
5+ years of experience of cloud services and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of cloud engineering experience, particularly in designing and implementing cloud platform solutions.

Work Environment
Normal office environment. (Remote or Hybrid), 3 to 4 days per month are required in office if within 60 miles of a posted Bread Financial location.

Salary Range (unless otherwise noted below):
$120,500.00 - $218,300.00Full Salary Range for position:
California: $138,600.00 - $272,900.00Colorado: $120,500.00 - $229,200.00New York: $132,500.00 - $272,900.00Washington: $126,500.00 - $251,100.00Maryland: $126,500.00 - $240,200.00Washington DC: $138,600.00 - $251,100.00Illinois: $120,500.00 - $240,200.00New Jersey: $138,600.00 - $251,100.00Vermont: $120,500.00 - $218,300.00Ohio: $120,500.00 - $218,300.00The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.
Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.
All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates (except those located in Illinois) receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time (“PSST”) upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois associates receive 40 hours of Illinois PSST upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year and 40 hours of Illinois Paid Leave upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois Paid Leave must be used before associates in Illinois will be approved to take FTO.
Hired associates will be able to elect the purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
