We are currently looking for a Senior Planner, Technician Retention to join our team in the Chicago, IL. This position will lead initiatives that strengthen dealer and field engagement by identifying, piloting, and scaling strategies that improve communication, trust and employee buy-in across dealer network. Support the field with tools, insights, and resources that translate data into action, helping dealer capture performance opportunities and enhance customer transparency. Facilitates collaboration leadership, advisors, and technicians to surface barriers, share best practices, and drive continuous improvement. As initiatives evolve, adapts focus to emerging priorities that support dealer employee retention, operational excellence, and long-term profitability.
A Day in the Life:
Conduct Market Assessment support to determine highest likelihood of successful with EM/DP engagement. Utilize data points, conversations with field teams, and EM/DP willingness to adopt new processes in order to maximize resource allocation and prioritize dealer on boarding.
Collaboration – Support dialogue with field teams which demonstrates a dealer specific engagement path. When needed support field team with initial dealer discussions to determine whether dealer leadership will engage with employee dialogue.
Coordination – Work with cross-functional teams for best practice sharing. Utilize database for storing/analyzing specific examples and scenarios.
Training – Develop and present training related to the tools and processes developed in or for the department. Train various audiences on subjects related to position responsibilities and departmental processes and initiatives. Provide training and mentoring to field staff related to effective dealership executive influence with the intent of improving dealership service operations process and performance.
Process Improvement - Recommend and implement tools and process improvements. Make swift and thoughtful decisions based on a clear understanding of Nissan’s and the department’s strategies. Team with people from other organizations, independently of borders (functions, regions, and affiliates), to reach a target.
Advocate Success – Share dealer/field Technician retention success stories internally. Develop and maintain communication platform so that dealers and field staff are aware of the ongoing efforts to retain technicians.

Who We’re Looking for:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in related discipline and Dealership experience preferred.
6 or more years of professional experience. Dealers contact experience (DTSM, FOM, DOM, FSM), including experience with dealership operational processes and parts and service field staff operations strongly preferred. Prior work may be a combination within a dealership, region, headquarters, or manufacturing facility and may be at the Analyst or Regional Manager level or similar type of position.
Ability to prioritize own schedules and organize workload effectively with minimal daily supervision.
Attentive to others' opinions and perspectives.
Ability to function effectively and remain productive in a virtual office environment.
Ability to focus on the best interests of the dealership and Nissan. Can remain objective in the course of building relationships.
Ability to influence the actions of others by building credibility through dealership knowledge, effective recommendations, clear communications, honesty, and demonstrated follow-up on promises.

Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications to produce non-standard, creative products.
Travel requirements (Up to 40% day and overnight travel)
