Senior People Strategy Partner

Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Senior People Strategy Partner to join our People team.

About the role:

The People Strategy function is the Oscar People Team's conduit between core HR centers of excellence and business unit leaders. The Senior Partner's core responsibility is to enable strong talent strategies at every level of leadership. The role drives accountability for organizational, cultural, and business efficacy by understanding the Oscar business cross functionally, providing human capital subject matter expertise, and navigating start-up speed alongside corporate best practices.

You will report into the Senior Director, People Strategy.

Work Location: This position is based in our New York City office, requiring a hybrid work schedule with 3 days of in-office work per week. Thursdays are a required in-office day for team meetings and events, while your other two office days are flexible to suit your schedule. #LI-Hybrid

Pay Transparency: The base pay for this role is: $144,000 - $189,000 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a coach and thought partner to Director, Senior Director, VP, level leaders to support strategic initiatives alongside talent needs and People Department programming
  • Develop and implement talent strategies, org designs, change management, and succession plans, for select subsets of a department
  • Provide strategic leadership insight to enable the business to see around corners, and influence them through synthesized themes, including providing critical and timely input about consequences and implications of local/federal law and best practices
  • Distill information from conversations, connect dots across the company, and synthesize information in a way that signals a clear call to action
  • Partner cross functionally within the People Department on the development and change management of new programming and assist in facilitating ongoing programming with business stakeholders
  • Be proactive and anticipate change- Support a culture of trust, promoting open & honest communication.
  • Train and coach managers and employees on best practices and adhering to company values.
  • Understand key people metrics and business trends to provide insights for leaders to make more informed decisions
  • Operate with exemplary professional maturity, judgement calls, and confidentiality
  • Acts as the right hand /proxy to the People Strategy Lead when appropriate and needed
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • 6+ years work experience of People Team / HR experience
  • 4+ years experience with leadership principles, frameworks, and industry practices related to team performance such as talent management, professional development, organizational design, workforce planning.
  • Strong ability to influence and shape change at the BU/department level
  • Track record of collaborating with centers of excellence and partners to drive enterprise-wide initiatives
