You are comfortable representing the business locally, driving compliant and constructive employee relations, and supporting broader P&C partnering responsibilities. Experience operating in a matrixed, international environment and the ability to potentially support additional EMEA regions over time is highly valued.

What you will do:

  • Act as a senior P&C advisor to leaders, proactively managing complex employee relations matters
  • Act as the primary P&C interface with the German Works Council and represent SOTI in discussions with employees, Work council and external stakeholders
  • Lead and manage all Works Council relationships, including:
    • Preparing and leading consultations and negotiations
    • Ensuring timely information, consultation and co determination processes
    • Partnering with Legal and leadership to achieve compliant, pragmatic outcomes
    • Prepare, lead, and support negotiations for works agreements
  • Maintain a strong and up to date understanding of local and regional employment legislation, case law, and Works Council requirements
  • Propose and drive enhancements to policies, employee handbooks, and HR practices accordingly.
  • Partner with managers to coach and develop leadership capability, including guidance on ER cases
  • Support leaders with objective setting, performance cycles, and talent reviews, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Legal team on employment contracts, policies and Works Council matters
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end employee life cycle
  • Act as the subject matter expert and escalation point for complex cases.
  • Own the administration, evaluation, and continuous improvement of existing P&C programs, ensuring they remain compliant, effective, and aligned with organisational strategy.
  • Contribute to the development and promotion of the Employer Brand and Employee Value Proposition, partnering with Talent Acquisition, Communications, and leadership both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate across the P&C function on cross functional projects as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in HR, including a senior HR Business Partner or equivalent role with strong focus on Work Council Experience
  • Demonstrated, hands on experience working with Works Councils including leading negotiations and consultations.
  • Post secondary education in Human Resources, Employment Law, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline; professional HR qualification is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and organisational change management.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in complex, matrixed organisations and balance strategic advisory work with hands on execution.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms, with a preference for Workday.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge, influence, and advise senior leaders.
  • Ability to manage complex priorities, work autonomously, and drive initiatives from concept through to delivery.
  • Experience in multinational or technology organisations preferred
