Senior Payroll Specialist
Department & Team: LATAM Finance
Hybrid (Bogotá) or Remote within Colombia
Role Overview:
We are looking for a LATAM Payroll Specialist to join our Finance team and manage end to end payroll operations across multiple countries in Latin America. This role operates in a dynamic, multicultural environment with several HR and payroll service providers, requiring adaptability, attention to detail, and strong collaboration skills. You will play a critical role in ensuring payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with local regulations, while also supporting financial reporting and continuous process improvement. At Genesys, you will contribute to strengthening payroll operations that support a diverse and global workforce, with exposure to senior leadership across Finance and HR.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end to end payroll processing for LATAM countries, working closely with external payroll providers.
Ensure payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with country specific regulations.
Review and validate complex payroll transactions, including equity, bonuses, severance, and corrections.
Perform month end activities, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual filings and payments.
Maintain and enhance internal controls to track and reconcile payroll changes.
Develop and maintain process documentation in line with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
Act as a key liaison between Finance and HR, ensuring accurate employee payroll data and interacting with senior leadership.
Drive process improvements and efficiencies across payroll operations.
Support timely salary and tax payments in coordination with Finance and HR teams.
Handle administrative tasks such as payslips, year-end tax certificates, and payroll inbox management.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
3 to 5 years of payroll experience, ideally with LATAM exposure.
Fluency in Spanish and English, with ability to communicate with global stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of payroll practices across Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru.
Understanding of payroll processes, HR practices, and compliance requirements.
Ability to work under strict deadlines with high accuracy.
Strong judgment and ability to escalate issues appropriately.
Experience working with payroll systems such as ADP and Workday.
