Senior Payroll Analyst

We’re looking for a Senior Payroll Analyst to step into a role that is 60% project-focused and 40% BAU, supporting a national payroll function while driving system, process and integration improvements.

The Opportunity

This is a role for someone who understands payroll inside out but wants to spend more time improving it than just processing it.

You’ll play a key role in payroll-related projects, including SAP enhancements, acquisitions and onboarding new entities, while still maintaining hands-on involvement in BAU payroll to stay close to the detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to payroll projects including SAP enhancements, UAT, acquisitions and onboarding new entities
  • Support the National Payroll Process Owner on system improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
  • End-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payrolls across multiple entities
  • Maintain SAP payroll data, including updates, increases and back pay calculations
  • Deliver reconciliations, reporting and statutory obligations including tax, super and workers compensation
  • Interpret awards and EBAs, support audits and mentor junior payroll team members

What You Bring:

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and processes
  • Experience working with EBAs and complex payroll environments
  • SAP payroll experience is essential

Skills

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to improve systems and processes
  • High level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Solid Excel capability and confidence working across systems
  • Clear communication and ability to translate payroll complexity into practical outcomes

Experience & Qualifications

  • 2 to 5+ years payroll experience in a complex environment
  • Experience supporting or delivering payroll-related projects
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting EBAs
  • Formal payroll training advantageous
