Payroll is one of the most visible and trust-critical functions in any company and at ClickHouse, we’re building it to scale. We’re looking for a Senior Payroll Analyst who operates with high ownership, precision, and a builder mindset. This role is not just about running payroll, it’s about helping design and scale payroll operations in a fast-growing, globally distributed company where not everything is fully defined yet.

If you’ve worked in high-growth environments, take initiative without being asked, and care deeply about getting things right while continuously improving how they’re done, you’ll do well here.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own and execute multi-state U.S. payroll with a high bar for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
  • Maintain data integrity across payroll systems, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and deductions.
  • Partner with third-party providers to support international payroll, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll journal entries for monthly close in partnership with Accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements, including quarterly and annual filings.
  • Serve as a trusted and responsive point of contact for employee payroll questions, delivering clear and professional support.
  • Own W-2 preparation and year-end reconciliation.
  • Identify gaps in payroll processes and proactively design improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Prepare payroll-related documentation to support internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Equity Administration, and Legal on payroll-adjacent matters.
  • Continuously improve payroll workflows and systems to reduce manual work and support company growth.

What You Bring

  • 3–5 years of payroll experience with demonstrated ownership of multi-state U.S. payroll.
  • Experience operating in a high-growth technology or SaaS company where priorities evolve quickly.
  • Strong sense of ownership - you take responsibility for outcomes and proactively drive work forward.
  • Experience with international payroll coordination is a meaningful plus.
  • Experience with payroll platforms such as Workday, Deel, or similar systems.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail - you consistently catch issues before they become problems.
  • You raise issues early and propose solutions, not just problems.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to partner effectively across teams.
