About the Role
We’re looking for a confident and hands‑on Senior Operator to join our friendly and supportive production team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in keeping our production lines running safely and efficiently, supporting shift leadership, and helping colleagues around you to grow and succeed.

Key Responsibilities
Operate, monitor and optimise production lines to achieve daily production targets
Support line changeovers, setups, and line adjustments
Lead by example in promoting a strong health & safety culture
Carry out basic line performance, troubleshooting and escalation of technical issues
Conduct quality checks, ensuring all products meet DS Smith standards
Provide training, guidance and support to Operators and new team members
Maintain accurate production records and support continuous improvement initiatives
Work collaboratively with engineering, quality and shift management teams
About you
We’re looking for someone who brings a combination of experience, reliability and a positive, solutions-focused mindset.
Previous experience operating production or manufacturing lines (preferably within packaging, print or FMCG)
Strong understanding of health & safety practices
Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capability
Ability to lead, coach and support others
Good IT skills
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Confidence working in a fast-paced, team-based environment
Location: Masters Logistical Services Ltd, Freight & Cargo Service in Ely, 19 Ely Rd, Ely CB6 3JJ
Working hours: 40 hours - Monday to Friday – 06:00am - 14:00pm
(Please note that the organisation intends to transition to an early and late shift pattern in the near future. Consequently, the successful candidate will be required to work on a rotational basis, covering the early shift (06:00–14:00) and the late shift (14:00–22:00) as part of their contracted hours.)
