MEANINGFUL WORK AND IMPACT 
As a Functional Analyst SME, you will directly support the Joint Staff J8 and the Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense Organization (JIAMDO). You will help develop threat informed joint requirements that address Combatant Command Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) gaps and deliver capabilities to the Warfighter. This position collaborates with the Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Services, the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE), and FFRDCs. Responsibilities include: 

MEANINGFUL WORK AND IMPACT: 

  • Oversee development of integrated simulation tools to support wargaming and IAMD analysis.  

  • Leading the planning, development, and integration of operational, technical, and analytical components for virtual environment events that inform requirements and shape employment concepts for acquisition and warfighter communities. 

  • Identifying IAMD objectives, methodologies, measures of effectiveness and performance, and developing algorithms using tools such as EADSIM and WILMA.  

  • Preparing and delivering senior level government briefings. 

  • Supporting JIAMDO in developing IAMD capabilities 

  • Assessing and prioritizing IAMD capability needs 

  • Leading special access studies and analyses

  • Preparing high level written products (reports, briefings, executive summaries) for senior leaders 

  • Facilitating coordination across IAMD stakeholders, including Combatant Commands, OSD, Joint Staff, Services, Agencies, and the Intelligence Community 

  • Providing expertise on IAMD capability needs across requirements, acquisition, and resourcing processes 

  • Coordinating technical exchanges with the Intelligence Community to refine understanding and modeling of adversary air and missile threats 

  • Developing adversary threat scenarios and fire plans to support the Joint Regional IAMD Capability Mix 

 

What you’ll need to succeed: 

Education: Master’s degree in a related field 
Experience: 15+ years of relevant experience 
Technical expertise: Minimum 15 years in IAMD or related disciplines and at least 5 years conducting modeling and simulation analysis 
Clearance: Active TS with SCI and SAP eligibility 
This role requires deep knowledge of Joint employment concepts, operational requirements, and doctrine for defending against enemy aircraft, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles.  

 
Additional experience: Minimum 5 years supporting the Joint Staff, OSD, Service HQ, or CCMD HQ

The likely salary range for this position is $157,250 - $212,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
