What will you do? 

  • Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior NPI Engineer to facilitate the transfer of information on new products and changes to existing products between engineering and manufacturing, supporting our Panels, Detectors, and notifications appliances for the Fire Detection business.

  • Manage the transfer of information between the engineering team and the factory.

  • Work between Manufacturing, Engineering, and customer expectations on product changes and new product introductions.

  • Track and ensure proper implementation of all NPI and changes, closing the loop on all projects.

  • Partner with manufacturing and engineering to find solutions that minimize issues in NPI and product changes.

  • Work with senior leadership to set manufacturing priorities and costs associated with NPI and changes.

How will you do it? 

  • Plan and execute new product introduction following the product development process.

  • Manage complex engineering changes affecting the manufacturing site.

  • Oversee specific project budgets and manage documents related to product and process validation.

  • Coordinate all internal product validation builds and customer visits.

  • Effectively communicate project status to upper management and perform risk assessments for each project.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and oversee engineering changes, release to manufacturing, and production implementation dates.

What are we looking for?  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ year's experience integrating products into manufacturing.

  • Expertise in a Product Lifecycle management tool and Manufacturing Material Resource Planning tool or Enterprise Resource Planning Tool.

  • Ability to plan and estimate small projects.
