At Aurecon, we’re looking for a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to drive the delivery of sustainable solutions across the Fuels, Chemicals, Water, and Food & Beverage sectors. What you’ll do:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering innovative solutions across energy, resource, and manufacturing projects. Collaborating closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams, you'll focus on the Fuels, Chemicals and Water sectors, supporting and expanding our pipeline with sustaining capital projects in New Zealand and Australia. You’ll also contribute to our growing decarbonisation portfolio, strengthening client partnerships and driving growth with new manufacturing clients, in alignment with our Energy & Industrial plan. Key Responsibilities:
Lead Projects: Take charge of small to medium-sized projects, ensuring delivery meets client expectations and business objectives.
Project Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire project lifecycle, including cost estimation and budgeting, design management and coordination, procurement and construction management, commissioning and handover.
Inspire and guide: Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering their growth and enabling the team to deliver exceptional results for our clients.
Project Management: Proven track record as a project manager leading cross functional and multi-disciplinary teams.
Innovation and Research: Stay up to date with the latest advancements and integrate new innovations and best practices into project designs

What are we looking for from you?
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fuels or manufacturing industry.
Alongside this, you will have the following:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (Washington Accord). CPEng a positive
Proven experience in a similar role with 7+ years’ experience post-graduation
Experience with ASME B31 pressure piping design, including pipe stress analysis and hydraulics/pump sizing.
Bring good technical understanding of MoC processes including HAZOP, AS4343 Hazard Classification, and relevant NZ Legislation and standards.
Design management experience co-ordinating multi-discipline projects with a broad knowledge of other engineering disciples
Demonstrated success in winning work
Excellent project management and communication skills.
