Senior Materials Engineer

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Materials Engineer to join our Networking Thermal Engineering team and be part of the leading team developing next-generation cooling solutions for high-speed communication systems. The role focuses on material selection, characterization, qualification, and definition of engineering methodologies supporting key thermal technologies, with emphasis on liquid cooling solutions. You will work closely with design, analysis, and thermal architecture teams to enable reliable and manufacturable solutions from concept to mass production.

What you'll be doing:

  • Define thermal material selection strategy

  • Develop characterization, qualification methodologies, procedures

  • Evaluate performance reliability compatibility thermal environments

  • Lead root cause analysis material failures

  • Collaborate design simulation manufacturing reliability teams

  • Support supplier engagement material qualification activities

What we need to see:

  • M.Sc. or equivalent experience in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field

  • 5+ years materials engineering experience

  • Experience with TIM (Thermal Interface Material), adhesives polymers thermal

  • Hands-on DMA DSC TGA characterization experience

  • Define characterization qualification methodologies working procedures

  • Understand material behavior reliability failure mechanisms

  • Experience materials compatibility liquid cooling environments

  • Perform root cause failure investigation analysis

  • Experience in working with suppliers material qualification

  • Ability work multidisciplinary engineering teams

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Deep expertise in Thermal Interface Materials (TIM), including advanced TIM solutions and viscoelastic materials.

  • Experience working with materials in liquid cooling environments, including compatibility, corrosion, and long-term reliability considerations.

  • Familiarity with failure analysis tools such as CT and C-SAM.

  • Experience building material databases, specifications, and engineering guidelines.
