Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Manager to support the Commercial Heat Exchanger (CHX) value stream within our Operations Center. As the Senior Manufacturing Manager for CHX, you will provide day-to-day leadership to the manufacturing cell leads, ensuring safe, high-quality, and on-time production while driving continuous improvement and supporting transformative change.
This role is ideal for a hands-on operations leader with strong people-management skills, proven manufacturing experience, and the ability to coach teams through change in a fast-paced environment. Experience in a union environment is preferred.
What You Will Do
Responsible for the Commercial Heat Exchanger value stream, serving as the Operations leader for the Manufacturing cell supervisors.
Ensure Road-to-Plan (RTPR) performance, remove barriers, and drive adherence to daily delivery commitments.
Conduct daily tiered meetings and manage escalation paths to maintain communication and flow across upstream and downstream operations.
Oversee daily labor planning, especially during a major shift in operational support from Large to Small Heat Exchangers, ensuring staffing levels are aligned with demand.
Drive tactical actions to support the Heat Exchanger transformation effort, including area redesign and integration of automated weld capabilities.
Serve as the operations focal for the CHX automation Integrated Product Team (IPT).
Lead stabilization initiatives to address chronic bottlenecks, high-defect processes, and supplier-driven variability.
Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality to resolve quality notifications (QNs), implement corrective actions, and reduce defect rates.
Provide coaching and operational leadership to supervisors, leads, and hourly team members across the value stream.
Support and mentor early-career talent, including rotation participants who will serve as cell leads.
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
Support change adoption relating to automation, process redesign, organizational shifts, and performance expectations.
Work closely with engineering, quality, supply chain, CI, and operations leaders to ensure production goals are met.
Maintain alignment with broader Operations Center priorities and escalate issues as needed to prevent delivery or quality disruptions.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
People leadership experience within manufacturing operations.
Qualifications We Prefer
Demonstrated experience managing teams in a high-mix, complex manufacturing environment.
Proven success driving daily production performance, troubleshooting issues, and leading floor-level execution.
Experience supporting or directly supervising hourly employees; familiarity with union environments is strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, problem-solving methodologies, and continuous improvement tools.
Aerospace or similarly regulated manufacturing environment experience.
Experience supporting automation implementation or cell/area redesign initiatives.
Ability to analyze performance data, identify trends, and drive targeted improvements.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
